Preface:

Well, I usually don't start reviews this way, but I am today.

I know the The Oscar by Oscar V (smoked/reviewed awhile back) was wrecked by me, now. It seems like "The Leaf" and "The Oscar" lines share some qualities - their cleanliness of taste, and their (not sure how to properly describe this) subtleness/low strength/light profile. Not sure if that translates well, but you know what I'm talking about if you've had either. And if you haven't - just know this ISN'T your typical dark wrapper/maduro cigar - and that's a good thing!

1/3:

Light/subtle strength and flavor. As soon as I first puffed on it - I knew The Oscar WAS NOT a dud. I usually associate dark wrapper (or maduro) with boldness or more intensity. That's not the case here. And I hope this isn't come off as a diss.

Very clean tasting and very smooth. Again, not your typical (or at least, mine) maduro.

The maduro flavor was definitely there. Nowhere near heavy, and pretty light. It's the showcase of the cigar, in that it's present, but much more mild than typical maduros.

Chocolate was there - in the same strength or mildness of the maduro.

2/3:

Maduro and chocolate kick up a notch.

Spices start to shine now. To me, they either weren't present or were bare present in the 1/3.

It was a nice uptick, overall.

3/3:

Kinda stayed the same as the 2/3, maybe with another uptick.

Trial By Smoke Judgement:

Great stick, overall. I was a little on the fence, throughout the 1/3 - only because this wasn't a typical stick, I believe. However, the more I now think about it - the more I want to return to it. I'll definitely return to it sooner than I thought after smoking, because the more I think and now write - the more I want a revisit.

Recommended.
@FireTom

You did it again! Thanks for the stick and intro to The Leaf!
