Jericho Hill .44s Review
Manufacturer: Crowned Heads
Cigar: Jericho Hill 44s
Size: 5.1x44
Cost: Free
Rest Time: 10-Weeks
Burn Time: 1:45
Pre Light: The cigar is a small boxed press stick with a really sloppy triple cap. The wrapper is dark and mottled with an aroma of cedar and raisins. I use my smallest punch to pierce the cap and off we go. The prelight draw has about the perfect resistance with flavors of black tea and earth.
1st 3rd:
On first light I get a strong black espresso coffee with an incredibly dry finish. Once the cigar settles down there are some faint cocoa hints to accompany the dark rich coffee flavors with the finish smoothing out into cedar with some light pepper.
2nd 3rd:
The second third sees some nice flavor shifts with caramel and peanuts and what reminds me of dehydrated banana chips, just without the dried fruit sweetness. There is a bit of white pepper on the finish once the fruit flavor dissipates.
Final 3rd:
The final third sees even more flavor shifts with wood, and not just cedar but also French oak like that imparted on barrel aged chardonnays. There is also a meaty flavor like steak with a molasses sweetness now coming in. Woody notes are now strong on the finish.
Summary: I really liked the look and feel of the small box pressed stick, it was both comfortable in my hand and in the mouth. Smoking the JH in my workshop allowed me to simply set it on the edge of my workbench without it rolling off onto the floor. The flavor shifts were strong through each third of the stick and it kept me guessing with each puff. The JH required two relights, but it could be because its just damp and wet here today. The body was medium to full with just a wee bit of strength coming in the last third. This is nice stick and I’ll look forward to trying some other sizes in the line.

The G.O.A.T.
Very nice review, David. I need to pick some of these up. I don't think I've tried them before.
One game in Utah, Jordan dunked on John Stockton. Jazz owner Larry Miller yelled "pick on someone your own size." On the next possession he dunked on 7'1 center Mel Turpin and shouted "he big enough for you?"
When told that Clyde Drexler was a better three-point shooter than him, Jordan responded "Clyde is a better three-point shooter than I choose to be." Then he hit 6 threes in game 1.
