Hoyo de Monterrey - Excalibur Cigarillos
Hoyo de Monterrey - Excalibur Cigarillos 4"X24 Burn Time : 25 min.
Prelight : I like to smoke cigarillos when I'm driving to or from work and only have a half hour or so. I just picked these up to try them out. It's a standard looking cigarillos, machine rolled, with a sweet tobacco aroma. Little veiny, little lumpy but looks decent.
1/3 : Starts off surprisingly good. Flavorful with creamy smooth tobacco, little nuttiness, light medium body. Has a medium long finish that's enjoyable. First 10 minutes go by like this and are by far the best this cigar has got to give. Goes downhill from here really.
2/3 : By the halfway point there's only a tobacco flavor left, all the other flavors are gone. The body is the same, finish is that of tobacco. Bit boring after the great start, but ok for a car ride.
3/3 : It get's a little hot at the end, the smoke more than the cherry. You do have to watch how fast you're smoking with the tiny RG but the short size heats the smoke up as well. The last third is not enjoyable at all, to be honest. Sub par finish considering how it began. Ends with a light body, down from the beginning.
Overall: Not a bad car ride cigarillo, but that's really only because I don't have high standards for these little machine rolled guys. Don't think I'll be picking these up again when I'm out, I'll try some others. Anyone have suggestions for cigarillos? I had Nat Sherman's Nats as my last car smokes and those were pretty good.

The Fuente ones, Exquisitos I think? And I actually like Macanudos because the super-mild tobacco doesn't get as bitter and harsh as a lot of cigarillios. Thanks for the review!
