Rhymes with "seed"
HC Series Black Maduro Robusto
So, if you followed my thread "http://www.cigarbum.com/forum/genera...igar-3932.html" you know that this cigar was gifted to me by
@Sweet Cigars
but then I thought I'd lost it. Well, the cigar gnomes (second cousins of the underpants gnomes from Colorado) caught wind that I was poking around and they put it back. I decided to smoke it and see how it was!
5.0" x 50 rg
The Wrapper
Dark brown in color, toothy with a skillfully applied cap, the wrapper has no prominent veins and is almost seamless. Let's light it up and see how it smokes!
First Third
Faint chocolate notes, with a good draw and good smoke production...nope, there goes the chocolate notes. I was expecting more chocolate flavor, but let's see how it develops.
Wow, the ash on this cigar is really white, such a stark contrast to the wrapper!
An inch in I'm getting a light spice AND tobacco notes on the retrohale. I taste a bit of cream and spice in my mouth, as well as a hint of vanilla.
Second Third
FINALLY some chocolate flavor shows up (fashionably late). It also brought its +1, spice, which is really making a lingering, lasting impression on the back of my throat.
Final Third
I never got here. With 2" left, the cigar got bitter, and after two purge attempts, I just let it go out.
Total burn time: 75 minutes
Final notes: This is probably the first cigar I had that I didn't care for. Don't get me wrong, I got 75 minutes of relaxed enjoyment out of it, but I wouldn't buy it again, and I would tell anyone interested in it to "try one first". It really didn't give me much maduro flavor, and the other flavors I've had other cigars do better. I am still very grateful for Vincent for sending it to me though

Great (and timely) review Cameron! I was just debating trying these and your review helped me decide to move in another direction. Thanks!
