    Gurkha Archive 1887 (Churchill)

    Intro:

*Sing along to "Woke Up This Morning" (Sopranos Intro)

Well, I woke up this morning

    Got myself a Gurkha
@WNYTONY always said it'd be a badly chosen one

He said, but it's in your shit-stick-bin, and you've got to burn to learn

    Pre-Smoke Judgement:

Definitely not looking forward to it. Like the song said, it's time to burn and learn. Looking forward to a dollar's worth of Gurkha-ducation.

    1/3:

Nice bit of pepper on the retrohale, right from the jump. Little bit of sweetness, along with a habano taste. Maybe a whispered hint of vanilla. This lasts for about a 1/2 inch to 1 inch - not very long. Then it becomes a little diluted, kinda bland, and very uninteresting. About 2 inches in, you can tell there's something that isn't melding. It's some taste/flavor that underwhelmingly pops, but doesn't get highlighted. Had a radishy kinda taste that was unexpected. Near the end it becomes a little harsh, but not bitter. Draw has been pretty loose.

    2/3:

Purged. Comes back less harsh, but still not smooth, and nowhere close to interesting. Residual is a little harsh, with a background of nutty flavor - not tasty. Draw is much more tight, and is almost perfect. Decided I'm tossing around the 1/2 mark - about another inch or so. Now the harshness is gone (1 inch from 1/2). Keeping it fully burning has been a chore, but this is from my humidor that has been under surveillance. Horrible tobacco flavor, with a displeasing bite. Tossed around the 1/2 mark - just couldn't stomach or will myself any longer.

    Trial By Smoke Judgement:

Probably one of the worst sticks I've ever had. Couldn't recommend to the bums. Unless you're a Gurkha fan, I'd stay away, but if you are, I couldn't even think to spend $9 (CI MSRP) on this. I've learned a lot with my dollar. I could explain what I learned, but my bums pretty much know what it is, especially if you've read my other Gurkha reviews.

    Outro:

    *Continue the song

But you were smoking' under a bad sign

With a Gurkha shit-stick in your mouth

    Woke up this morning

    All my sense was gone
    @WNYTONY never told me

    About right and Gurkha (wrong)

Make up the rest on your own. I'm outta here, turd nuggets.

Maybe he just got a dud

Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity.

If I remember correctly, the Heritage Maduro was decent. May have also had the natural wrapper Heritage.
