True Derelict
My Father CT Corona Gorda review
Smoked 5/11
Appearance: well constructed, few veins or visible seams. Feels silky, but light in hand. Wrapper smells of light black pepper and oak. Foot gives same, with slight toast. Cold draw is oaky, with black pepper and a light toastiness. I'm seeing a trend here, lol.
First third: Tastes are what I have come to see as classic Connecticut, being oaky and tobacco, with a light black pepper added in. Aromas of oak, toast, and a creaminess to texture. The lightness of feel indeed translates to a fast burning stick.
2nd third: all similar to the first, with cedar joining the aroma. There is an interesting buttered popcorn note to the aroma when it is pushed.
Final third: Tastes are same, with the creaminess subtly joining in. Aromas of cedar, tobacco and that creaminess.
Thoughts: Nice to smoke a mild one from time to time. It was also a good start to the MF set as I believe what I have just builds from here.
