[Review Preview]

Intro:

Lunchtime smoke sesh with MY BOY tomorrow, and I'm bringing tasty little morsel; one I haven't had for a while.

Pre-Smoke Judgement:

Had 3-4, and was hooked since the first. Been looking into buying a bundle, and I needed...one...last...single...to make up my mind.

Intro 2:

Smoke sesh was cank'd...f'n guy forgot his smoke. Maybe we'll do it tomorrow during lunch. BUT, it was going to be today's smoke and review, and I finally got to it a couple hours ago, after the storm.

1/3:

Nice and tasty. Lots and lots of spice, along with some nice nostril slicing, right off the bat. The nose love was a nice little tease, since the sharpness quickly went away after I burned through the foot. The foot was nicely enclosed, with little a extra overlapping wrapper, and I'm pretty sure it provided the knife. Lot of spice, but not really nose-bomb pepperish spice after the foot. Still had a little cut to it, though. Maybe a mixture cardamom, clover, pepper, brown sugar, and a hint of sweet vanilla. Residual was a tad nutty, at first; then the vanilla hint hit. Not sure if it WAS vanilla, but it reminded me of it. Draw was fan-f'n-tastic with a punch. Probably medium-plus bodied, pretty bold, and the smoothness with the melded spices was very nice.

2/3:

Profile became less bold, more to the lower side of medium-plus or close to medium. Spices were still present, we're toned down. The vanilla and brown sugar picked up another hint level, which was nice. Residual became mixture of slight hints of carmelized brown sugar, vanilla, and nuts. It was a pretty cool change-up from the 1/3.

3/3:

Spices took another step down. Sweetness kinda picked up a tad. Had to purge to see if the spice would come back, and it did help. Overall profile became medium-ish. Vanilla was easier to discern. Maybe the the brown sugar as well, but I can't really recall. The kids became a handful shortly into the 3/3, and I was browsing Cbid, and can't remember any other notes, other than it still being very enjoyable before I tossed it an inch from the punch.

Trial By Smoke Judgement:

Much enjoyed...AGAIN! Looks like I'll be eyeing a bundle soon, maybe even very soon. I'm buying my first box this week from the B&M, and I might just ask them for a bundle when I get the call saying it's in from the warehouse. Very worthy of the $6. Highly recommended to my bums. Another fine DE cigar.

What else by DE would you suggest? I know I've had the BOTL, Undercrown Maduro, KFC Swamp Thang, a couple Acids, HE Norteno, HE Habano, and the Larutan Juicy Lucy. Maybe a HE Brazilian. Heard great things about the Liga Privada series. Want to try the MUWAT, Tabak, and Deadwood lines.

I usually take the band off everything before smoking. Never heard of such a thing like that before. Was this something learned by first-hand experience?

Wait...I just took the meaning of the last part as it doesn't go well after removing the band?

It goes through a transition that I find unpleasant so I never smoke past the band on these. Love the cigar though
