    Drew Estate BOTL (Corona)

    [Review Preview]

    Intro:

Debated putting this over in the Lancero review for a whole two seconds, and I says to myself...NO!... it's a different vitola, so it gets it's own thread. Listen, I'm a fully-fledged Bum now, and this is my little corner of the forum. So, I'm gonna run it how I see fit.

    Pre-Smoke Judgement:

It was perfect then...it will be perfect again. Been thinking a lot about this cigar lately, and it was time for a revisit...plus all my cigars are in isolation.

    1/3:

Pretty much the same, however, there was a nuttiness on the residual and a tiny bit of sweetness on the draw. Not sure if those were there before, but I think the review writing has helped develope my sense of taste, since I'm trying to describe it to an audience. Still purist-esque - no real "nuances" or "flavors", just great f'in tobacco. Broadleaf quickly becomes sharp through the nose. Medium-plusish.

    2/3:

Broadleaf and profile kick up a bit. The broadleaf can bring the tears, if you allow. Tobacco is killer with a wicked-sweet bite. Pretty much the same as the lancero. Still looking for the purist bums among us, to reach out and invite me into their sect. I'm ready and willing for the rituals and initiation rights. Burn ring needed a couole touch-ups. The corona also seems like you have to pick up the pace, because she needed a couple touch-ups.

    3/3:

And pretty much the same thing again, compared to the lancero. The corona went a little squirrely on me with the burn, and the touch-ups, but that was probably due to my slow pace.

    Trial-By Smoke Judgement:

The corona was near perfect, and probably would have been perfect if I had not had the lancero first. However, from what I know, different vitolas can offer different experiences, and I believe this to be true for the BOTL corona vs lancero. I'm sticking with the lancero, but the corona was damn fine; and maybe I just need to revisit the lancero to further evaluate. Who knows. What I do know is I'm going back to the lancero next. Highly recommended to the bums. Worth the $, and I believe you can only find these in B&M.

Agree - imo the corona is much better than the lancero version of this cigar and I think, like you, I found out the hard way
No cigar until you get a par - birdie if it's a scramble !

the first time i had one of these it was too spicy for me like most Liga products. I let them sit a year and then revisited. I've really enjoyed them this summer.

A local shop of ours gets them and should be getting the new allocation soon.

Forgot to add to the review that the nicotine seemed heavier in the corona. I enjoyed the spicy nose cuts, but it did sit heavy on me and make me sweat pretty good out in the 90+ degrees temp.
