Prelight: The Reserve Limitada has firm dense pack, a dark mottled wrapper, and quite possibly the worst looking triple cap I have ever seen. Prelight aromas are cedar and honey. I use my large punch to open it up and take a prelight draw that tastes of pepper and spice.

1st 3rd:

On first light I get flavors of dry earth and nuts and a bitter metallic taste on the finish. Once the cigar settles down the earthy flavors remain and are joined by iron, red wine and dark chocolate. There smoke output is quite light, it's hardly noticeable that the stick is even lit.

2nd 3rd:

The ash falls after about 1.5 inches. The Curivari RL sees some huge flavor shifts in the second third, gone is the earth and pepper flavors which are now replaced by rich coffee, vanilla, citrus and cedar with a faint hint of wine. The smoke is medium bodied and the finish is light with the metallic taste remaining long after the draw.

Final 3rd:

The coffee flavors have turned to a deeper dark roast and the pepper has reemerged, but it's barely there. The wine, citrus vanilla flavors are gone replaced by some milk chocolate with a slightly harsh roasty finish.

Summary:

The performance of the RL was good with no relights needed, but one touch up was required at the mid-point. The touch up was most likely due to some issues with my storage and not the stick. All of my sticks have seen canoeing at some point lately even though my calibrated hygros have read 62 all summer. There were some very unique flavors in this stick that captured my attention from start to finish. This was one of those sticks that I wish just kept going long after it went out. At less than $6, this another winner from Curivari.
