    Curivari Buenaventura

Overall mediumish bodied. Very clean tobacco. Purist tobacco flavor. Very smooth with a little bite on the retrohale. Can’t recall any spices throughout or any pepper on the retrohale. Clean tobacco residual. Becomes a little nutty, and near the end, sesame becomes discernable.
Reminds me of something old school, before “flavors” or “nuances” were a thing. I thought to myself that I probably wouldn’t have appreciated something like this had I smoked this early on in my cigar smoking hobby. It’s not an “acquired-taste” kinda cigar, but I only wanted certain types of cigars early on, and this would NOT have been something I’d return to. I think it may be an “acquired-appreciation” kinda cigar, in the sense that:

“acquired-taste” can been likened to early experiences with beer, liquor, or tobacco – where you first have to accept and enjoy the “bite” and taste that comes with each

“acquired-appreciation” can be likened to the refinement of taste and/or the discovery of something new your taste wouldn’t have appreciated prior to refining it through exploration of your “acquired-taste”

    Trial By Smoke Judgement:

Highly recommended. I’ve got a couple more Buenaventuras, in different vitolas, to burn through before I decide which to buy, BUT I’d go with this one for sure if it was the only one I had. Price point is low and quality is high, which makes it a no-brainer for me to have some on hand.

Much thanks to @WNYTONY for this great stick!

Glad you enjoyed it - great smokes for the price. The Reserva I sent you will be different than the Buenaventura
No cigar until you get a par - birdie if it's a scramble !
