The relatively high rating and low price got me interested, but I almost didn't even try one.
My B&M doesn't stock them, and CI only sells them by the box of 20.
First impression is that this is an attractive cigar. A nice even wrapper with a few small veins.
Pre-light aroma is fresh tobacco. Pre-light draw is easy. Let's light 'er up!
First third is maybe just a tad harsh, but not awful. Primary flavor is wood with maybe a hint of kitchen spice. Not complex, but not one-dimensional either.
What really catches my eye is that the burn is perfect. I mean, Fuente perfect.
Second third mellows considerably. The wood is still present, and something else I can't quite put my finger on. CI says espresso and caramel, but I'm not sure.
One thing for certain, I am really diggin' this cigar now, and the burn remains picture perfect.
Last third continues the wood and the perfect burn. Although it is not a complex cigar, it was very enjoyable. I nubbed it after this pic was taken, which is rare for me.
Overall impression: 7 out of 10.
