Smoked 9/17
Wrapper smells of nose tingling spice and hay. Foot gives tobacco and tingly spice. Cold draw is black pepper, hay and faint coffee.
First third tastes are pepper, creamy and oaky. Aromas are cut hay and spices. Plagued with a tight draw and thin smoke production.
Poked the head with a match 3 or 4 times, and now she's breathing. Eww, wish it hadn't. Harsh charry note underpins the rest of the smoke.
Second and final thirds taste oaky and creamy. Aromas of hay, spice and cedar. That char note killed it, though.
Thoughts on completion of the Gurkha "Gauntlet"? OK, there were some tasty notes in there. Seems every one of these had a harshness, either by char or sour notes. Dunno what to think of that, but after all that, CAN'T WAIT to start a good set, perhaps E.P. Carillo
