Arturo Fuente 858 Maduro (Corona Grande)

    Intro:

The review comes almost 24 hours post-smoke.

    1/2 - 2/3

-Quite a bit going on off the bat. It was an interesting mixture of blackberry, spice, pepper, and something twangy.

-The twang wasn't acidic, and seemed more metallic. But, the residual brought on an acid taste under the tongue.

-Mineral-ish taste popped when I was thinking about the twang.

-Pepper and spice were nicely paired with the twang

    -Nice burn

-PERFECT DRAW - DAMN NEAR EFFORTLESS

    -Medium-plus

    3/3:

-Near the beginning everything would drop off slowly, and it eventually became bland and NOWHERE near as enjoyable as before.

-Purging helped for a bit. Letting the cigar die and relighting helped. Ultimately after a couple puffs, the bland came back.

-Tossed much earlier than hoped - around two inches from the cut. It just became a chore, and many reviews have verified this same problem.

    Trial By Smoke Judgement:

Great stick, with TONS of flavor. Was disappointed at the end, but was WOW'D throughout until then. Price point wise, it's around $6, and I'd happily pay that. It's another AF that has a nice quality/price ratio. Recommended to all Bums.

    @FireTom

    Thanks for the stick!

I like AF's maduro cigars OK, but they really don't taste very maduro-y to me.
    Insert witty comment here ...

I like the sweet grassiness of the 8-5-8 candela. They are pretty mild though. Almost too mild. Those who like the powerhouse smokes probably wouldn't care for them at all. I like them because they sort of remind me of Virginia pipe tobacco.
Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity.

I don't recall it being very maduro-y, either. Not sure if the twang kinda masked it, but that's a good point you brought up - I'll be on the look for it next time.
