AJ Fernandez Last Call (Genialies / Corona)

    Intro / Pre-Smoke Judgement:

This review comes more than three days after smoking. It's not fresh in the noggin, but up it goes anyway. I remember wanting a smaller stick, and not one I consider "tossable" - and there the Last Call was, sitting on top of the tupperdore. I haven't had many AJF sticks, so I was eager to check this stick out.

    Overall:

    -Great tobacco flavor

-I remember looking at the top of the band - "Premium Aged Tobacco" - and thinking: "That's all I really need to know here, because it's very much fitting."

-Very smooth, and can't remember the bite

-I don't recall any "nuances" or "flavors", BUT I do remember not caring about those things with this stick

    -Burned great, no issues

    -Solid throughout

-Can't remember any spices, but do recall it not being spice-heavy - just great tobacco

    -Nice and tasty tobacco residual

    Trial By Smoke Judgement:

Awesome stick. Nice quality to price point ratio - high quality, low price. This is a new sub-$5 favorite for me. I've noticed (in my couple years of cigaring) "Premium" being thrown around a lot; or Limited Edition this and that - and there's usually a pricier price tag along with it, but that's not the case here. I've seen em on Cigarbid for great prices - less than $4 - and would be more than happy to pay that for these. Recommended to the Bums.

    @WNYTONY

    Thanks for the stick, Tony!

AJ wins the quality/price ratio for me every time - for all of his cigars.

Same here - the maduro didn't wow me but I've bought a few boxes of these.

@chain_gang - the last time I grabbed these I got under $3 a stick and for that price they are fantastic
No cigar until you get a par - birdie if it's a scramble !

I tend to think AJ's maduro tobacco is subpar. I wonder if just given the volume of cigar he makes he just cant give it enough time. Far too many companies call dark cigars maduro but the tobacco lacks all the favorable characteristics of a true maduro.
