Special Note:
Although dramatically different vitolas, (4.75x60 vs 5.5x52) this is the closest I have ever come to having both a recent production (this review) and a well aged stick (2002 Gran Consul just below) to compare them, which is the only reason I’m reviewing this stick.
Will be very interesting, for me at least, lol.

Eta: Nearly aborted this due to the Humidimeter reading, but decided to go forward anyway.

A 5.5x52 Robusto Grande, Nicaraguan puro, of fine, smooth texture, smooth, long cap, and firm bunch.

A slightly uneven burn, short conical coal, flakey, mottled grey ash and perfect draw.

Ample smoke volume and a strong, fragrant aroma.

Of excellent richness, generous body, full strength and perfect balance of herbal and floral flavors and a medium finish of the same.

No sweetness, bitterness, burn on the tongue, sharpness or saltiness.

Of outstanding character and overall an outstanding cigar with a final score of 95 out of 100, compared to 84 for the 2002 Gran Consul.

Major difference was an increase in every category, especially construction, strength, richness and body.

I friggin love cigars
