Pretty powerful right from the get-go.

Lots of pepperish spice going on.

You can sense the layers and complexity of the peppery spice meld easily - it's not just a straight pepper blast.

Great retrohale - bites the nose nicely with moderately strong power. Awesome when you retrohale SLOW.

Wonky burn throughout. Needed a number of touch-ups throughout.

A taste would pop in my head, where I thought of seasoned popcorn without butter and salt.

Medium-plus to full bodied and flavored.

Decent draw.

I think this may have been the first cigar where a "leather" taste kinda made sense to me. I don't recall exactly why, and it may have just been in my head when I looked online for the HN's price which was within the "review" on Holts.

Near the 3/3 it did drop-off quite a bit, and was a pain to keep lit throughout, but it may have just been the unevenness of the tobacco burn. It wasn't bad, but with the multiple relights, it may have soured the tobacco, because an annoying sour taste was there. BUT, my tupperdore has recently went from 70% to 65% to 62% within the past 2-3 months - so that is a factor.

Trial By Smoke Judgement:

Great stick for the price-point of around $3 (if you buy the 25 count bundle). For a fiver, they're around $5-6/ea - and I think that's a fair price, and probably where I'd start to check the 3/3 to see if a bundle would be good. That won't be anytime soon, but I would really like to get back to this stick...so maybe I'll eye them for a price drop to motivate me more. This was definitely a stick within my preferred wheelhouse of spice/pepper/intensity/flavor/price. Recommended to all Bums.
