C.P. McDill here, known on the late Puff forum by the same handle. I am so glad to see so many familiar names over here, as I was worried that the community was "lost in time, like tears… in... rain" -- the prospects are looking good to get the old dynamic up and running quickly.

Thrilled to see so many friends and pipe heroes reporting in. It is pity that certain useful threads were lost on pipe restoration/maintenance, but maybe it's a blessing in disguise, as those of us who embrace this hobby will have gained in experience and wisdom, and we can update our insights and advice. Sometimes the "weight of the past" may make us less likely to post something new, because we feel it's already been written, and newbies can just use the search function. It's a fresh opportunity to re-examine our knowledge.

Glad you found the place Christopher. Welcome.

Chris - I'm a refugee from Puff.com. Glad to be here! I started smoking pipes while I was in Afghanistan. It was a way for me to calm down and chill out after/during a rough day. Since then it's helped me stay off those nasty drugs the VA is so fond of pushing on us veterans. I don't smoke a lot, maybe a couple bowls a week. But my vitamin N intake has increased slightly since I went back to college. For some reason smoking a pipe helps me concentrate on studying. If I'm smoking inside I usually use a match, but I have a pipe zippo that I was gifted a while back that I use when I'm out and about. My cellar is not so small, not so big and very varied. I probably have a little bit of everything. Not sure what you call it but I prefer tobaccos that have a woody, smokey flavor. There are a few select aros that I enjoy (H&H Egg Nog is NOT among those) but overall I like the more natural flavor of non-aros.

Hey y'all!! Sup?! Reporting for duty!

Thanks to some of you for reaching out and pointing me here. Enablers.

For a while I was smoking more, to make up for the lack of my virtual puffing, then I actually started to get more work done around the house, my iPad stayed charged longer, I went to bed earlier, etc. Now back to ruination...

Glad to see familiar names here.

Thanks for your service. Wouldn't it piss off a bunch of people if they had to prescribe/suggest tobacco?
