    Thanks gentlemen,

@BryGuySC are you saying go back to back with both tobaccos and if so is it cool to do that with the same pipe?
I don't have emotions, and sometimes that makes me very sad.

Ideally, you want different pipes for the different styles of tobacco. But for just getting started (especially with a cob), it is fine to smoke the two back to back. Just make sure you don't start with the English. The next one you smoke after the English may be a little ghosted, but a bowl or two will get rid of it.
For briar pipes, you do want to let them rest. Corn cobs pips can take more of a beating, and they are cheap.
Don't worry about missing subtleties of the tobacco. Work of technique. You'll get the "broad strokes" of the flavors, and that is fine.
Once you are more comfortable with the pipe process, then you can start down the slippery slope of find what kind of tobacco you like.

Oh, and sign up for the noob pipe tobacco trade.

I will give that a shot. I spent a good bit of the day yesterday reading up and watching videos on packing and lighting techniques.

I will sign up as soon as I confirm I like this side and make a purchase
