Hey y'all,
I've been a cigar enthusiast for almost 2 yrs now.
@tmoran
piqued my curiosity with the contest, so here I am. I would love some suggestions and recommendations. Those who see me on the cigar side know I'm on an arduous quest to find my limit for powerful cigars. As far as those go, my baseline is Camacho, LGC and E.P. Carrillo, with very rewarding forays into Viaje and LFD. I have even survived and enjoyed the Digger. Where should I start here? And is there a thread with suggestions for turning some of these sticks into pipe fodder? Thanks y'all!
Trent.

Welcome to the other side! I'll send you some samples of some baccies that might suit your tastes when I send out the M79 samples. When I first expanded to pipes from cigars, blends with Latakia were the first that I was drawn to. Dunhill Nightcap is a good strong one. Cornell and Diehl Billy Budd has a good amount of Latakia, plus a little cigar leaf. I enjoy both occasionally, but they are a little heavy for me. They might be right up your alley. I won't even bother recommending Prince Albert and Macbaren HH Old Dark Fired, because I will definitely send you a sample. Those two are plentiful in my cellar.
Welcome to the other side. I recommend grabbing a few MM Corn Cobs and if you like strong SG Black XX twist, GH&Co. Happy Brown Bogie, Tambolaka are strong. All I can say is be patient it can be tricky to get the hang of but it is worth every second of work.
Hey Trent. Good to see you on this side of the fence. I have just started to dangle my feet in the piper water too. I have yet to even strike a bowl I'm so new but I'm gonna get to it just as soon as some samples come in. I did the Noob sampler trade with a great BOTL here to help get me started. We will have to compare notes as we progress.
Have a safe and uneventful (considering your job) wknd.
Welcome over. Every now and then I smoke a bowl of chopped up nubs. Five Brothers is a straight burley. It's nutty and enjoyable but for me it's not an everyday or all day smoke. It surprised me with the amount of taste and nicotine.
Happy as if I had good sense.
