A little nuttiness (of course ). But just the shells, not the nuts - the oils would be bitter and acrid. Supposedly other tree nut shells work for smoking, but I've just tried pistachios as they're the only nuts whose shells I can accumulate in quantity. I have tried peanut shells, but their smoke is like burning paper.
