WOW! Thanks for posting this, Alan. Don't know why I never came across this site in all my Google cigar-related searches, but just went there and looked around a bit after seeing your post. Looks like a GREAT site...may even start using it in place of CigarBid. Thanks again, brother.
Thanks and greetings to YOU from the home of the blue crab. . .lol...ohhhh YES I love enablers....bring em on...the more the better....for one thing, they're much needed and much appreciated counterpoints to my wife and her constant over worrying about my health (bless her heart) and her not allowing me to smoke inside (understandable but not so many blessings there..)lol
Steve, thanks for sharing the Truman related info, man! So you're only 30 mins away from where HST was born? How cool is that!! The way you describe his birthplace sounds a lot like I pictured it might. Amazing how folks from such a humble beginning can sometimes make it so far in life. 8x8 roms huh? Don't know if I could've hacked that, but then again, if it had room for a desktop humidor, I guess I'd have gotten by. Trouble is, at that size, it didn't have enough room for the desk! LOL. I'm sure you've probably heard this story but, in case you haven't, here goes (true story): When HST was president, Jack Benny came to the WH to do a show. Not surprisingly, he had his violin case with him. A Secret Service agent jokingly asked, "What ya got in that case, Jack?" Benny, in his world famous sarcastic way, replied, "It's a machine gun"...to which the agent responded, "Thank God!! I thought it was your violin!"
I haven't tried a Fuente stick yet. From what little I've seen online, it doesn't appear they make a mild or mild to medium stick, which is about all I can handle right now. Or maybe I just haven't run across the right one yet. Do you know of any they make on the mellower side? In my VERY limited experience so far, I've fallen for the Macanudo Cafe Hyde Park, and a couple Drew Estate sticks.
Lol, I hadn't heard the Jack Benny story before. He could make a violin make some incredibly screechy noise and he used it as a great prop. As far as mild Fuente cigars, I tend to enjoy more medium/full cigars most of the time. One of their most popular vitolas are the 858. They come in a variety of wrappers to choose from and they would be a good place to start exploring. The Sun grown, Rosado Sun Grown or Natural may be something you would enjoy. I am in no way an expert on any cigars, I just recognize a cigar that I enjoy smoking. There are a lot of those for me. But I only smoke maybe 3 cigars a month.

Hey, I appreciate that, Kevin. Just finished looking at the sampler - not to mention a few other goodies on the site..heh heh...and that free shipping can't be beat! Going back there later today and place an order for the sampler and another enticing morsel or two - or three. Thanks for the link!
Looks like I'll be trying my first Fuente stick about a month from now. I'm ordering a sampler that Kram311 put me onto from the "Perfect cigar Blend" site. It includes a Fuente Double Chateau Natural. I see they also carry a bunch of rather large Fuente samplers, but many of them are sold out at the moment. Obviously good stuff! (BTW, I try to "rest" sticks for 30 days before smoking them. That's why I won't be smoking anything from the sampler for at least a month.) Anyway, I made note of your recommendation on the 858 vitola, and that's the next thing I'll be looking for. I 'll definitely let you know how that went once I've had a chance to smoke one. Thanks for the recommendation!
