I had an uncle who served in WWII. If ever you felt you needed your ass kicked, you could just make him a Spam sandwich

I don't know about price, but the SPAM I used to eat back in Italy 25 years ago was pretty tasty (even though weird looking) and I don't recall it being salty at all. I remember it tasting similar to the corned beef I enjoy today.
