Why ?
Pete,
@NeverBend
, Please help me understand why these pipes are all drilled thru.One is a Dr Grabow,one is a Yellowbowl,a french unmarked,and I didn't bother reading the description on the last.They are all listed on EBay by newriveronlineauctions. So if this is a bad thing the pipers here will know to keep an eye out for it.Thanks !
Matt

Morning Matt,
It looks like someone tried to make carburetor holes, like the Kaywoodie Carburetor pipe. I never smoked a Kaywoodie Carburetor but I’ve seen a few and their hole is through a metal grommet, not just a random drill hole. I imagine that the holes would make these pipes burnout candidates and I doubt that there would be any beneficial effect.
Thanks for pointing them out and I’d suggest, to anyone who might be interested in them, that there are better fish to be had, these are throwbacks.

Thanks Pete, I had noticed they were all from one seller so I figured they came from the same estate as well.I just hope the "Old Boy " smoking them enjoyed his pipes.

Lonely Wandering Bum
I have a Cob that had accidentally gotten the poker of a Czech tool pushed through the bottom of. That pipe can smoke any tobacco all the way to the bottom without relights, although it can get too hot if I'm not careful.
