What's the best way to jar coils of twist tobacco?
Do I cut it into pieces first? What are your experiences?

I coil it right down into the jar. I don't cut it up. Sometimes it breaks on a nail hole. If I have broken pieces I drop those into the center.
(Looks like you bought enough rope to hang yourself )
Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity.

Thanks, that's what I just did with all of them, into one-quart jars with wide mouths. They twisted in just right!
It's a pound of rope (4 oz. of each)!

Nice looking stash! How much did you pay for each?

The finished product:
They were $17.76 for each 4 oz. unit. Got them at 4 Noggins.

I like the Weck brand jars that I buy at Crate & Barrel. They have a separate, reusable rubber seal, and their glass lids are closed by two SS clips. Very good sealing, and very convenient. They come in a range of sizes.

That's what I do - then when I want to slice off a coin or two, I'll turn the jar on its side, pull out a bit over the cutting board (I appropriated Mrs. Bruck's tiny cutting board just for this purpose), then slice.
Side note - some twist tobaccos make pretty good chaw; I think I chew more of it than I smoke.
You oughta know not to stand by the window, somebody see you up there.

I bought 4 oz. each: much more than 4 bowls. I need jars to keep them from drying out.
