First, I'd like to thank you for your service! Well Done!

I have been thinking about the Zippo for Pipes. Many people seem to like them.
Of all the things I have lost in my lifetime, I miss my MIND the most!

Awesome...sounds like some good times ahead! If you've the time, maybe you can start a thread or two about these MD'ing times once you're going at it. I love the "finds" stories...

BTW, sorry to hijack your thread!

    Thanks!

I've been happy with my Vertigo for about fifteen dollars, but you can't beat a zippo for outdoors.

Zippo or Jetline. They are all I have. I use my jetline more since it doesn't give the flavors that the Zippo sometimes will.

I try to stay away from using Zippos on tobacco ever since I ruined a bowl of tobacco with a pipe Zippo. I think it was overfilled. I couldn't shake the lighter fluid taste. I stick to butane now.
I love my Zippos, and had to find a way to continue to use them. I still use my Zippo, but I have a Vector Thunderbird soft flame butane pipe insert, which I love. I still get that sweet Zippo "ping!" but also get the cleanness of butane. The insert is about $13, and I have several old Zippos for cheap from ebay.

One day, I aim to get a dark rusticated briar Old Boy, but I always end up spending my extra money on tobacco!
Even if I do get an Old Boy, one day, the old Zippo will still be my every day carry!

I have been using a Bic since I started piping. I have a few Zippos knocking around here somewhere, but I just can't find the damn things. I was given a gift card to Amazon. Today I spent it on this:

That's a good looking one! I somehow keep acquiring Zippos, too!

You can get yourself a Chinese "old boy" on ebay for $15 shipped. I have one and the quality is good on them. Cant beat the price.
