To further stir it up
What are you wanting in your tobacco?
I myself like the aro's. I like the creamy vanilla topped
blends. I do enjoy the english, orientals, and VaPers.
But, it's the smooth cavendish topped with vanilla or maple
that I long for when I'm between bowls.
So what's the charcteristic your wanting when your sitting there
daydreaming?

I like sweet and fruity non aromatics. Love the citrus in a light English. I also like baking spice. I like fruity or peppery perique, provided it's not overdone. For aromatics, I like them minimally flavored and without delicious smelling tin notes. Every blend I've tried that smells good enough to eat in the tin has been a major disappointment... with just a couple exceptions. I detest cavendish and seek out blends that do not contain it or contain at most, just a wee bit. I also tend to avoid burley for the most part although I like a burley blend once in a while for a change of pace. I could go on and on...

I love naturally sweet tobaccos, or tobaccos with just a sweet topping (of the non-fruity variety).
I love the citrus tangy Virginias and the plum/pepper of perique.
I love when the blend has a bread/yeast like aroma and flavor like Dunhill DeLux Navy Rolls or Escudo.
I also love the deeper Virginias like FVF or it's Vaper counterpart, St. James Flake.
I also have started loving Virginia/Oriental mixtures and love the sweet/sour tang of them.
That's what I crave most of the time.

All of my regular tobaccos are straight Virginias, lightly-topped Virginias (such as Capstan), Vapers, or one burley: Solani 656, Aged Burley Flake.
I don't experiment very much – I already know what I like!

Non-aros generally, with a leaning toward English.

Since I like almost all types of tobaccos, it's a long story.
In English blends I look for the hearty smoky (and creamy) taste of Latakia and I want to taste Orientals too.
In aromatics, I like blends that are relatively dry, yet smoke flavorful all the way to the bottom of the bowl without getting too wet in the bowl.
In Virginia and VaPer blends, I look for body and natural sweetness.
In burley/Virginia blends, I like balance and depth of flavors, not a dominance by the burley.
