Just finished smoking Walnut in a 1975 smooth slight bend Tinderbox Aalborg freehand made by Nording. Next is The Smoker Woodlands in a 2003 Ural full bend egg shaped Lattice meer.

Hi Chris,
How do you like the Cairo?
2014 Newminster #400 Superior Navy Flake in a 1983 James Upshall BX straight grain billiard saddle with a gold band.
The Newminster isn't bad tobacco but I can't consider it Superior. Chocolate top note that I'm not keen on either.
This James Upshall is the only BX (better X) that they ever produced and it was the first pipe that they engraved. Previously they used hand stamps before being given the New Hermes engraving machine. Tilsheads (2nds) continued to be hand stamped.
Reamed this Upshall tonight and it was much needed and it was a bear.
37 degrees here on the porch in Huntington. Humid air feels colder but I saw the bubbler in the fish pond working so I have fingers crossed on the fish having survived this brutal winter.

Hi Pete,
I find Cairo to be a very pleasant smoke. Got it about a month ago, and the tin is already half empty. I've been consistently pleased with every Pease blend I've tried.
