@freestoke
's doppelganger out there today...
A gent in his mid 60s, beautiful large bowled Peterson military mount hanging from his mouth and drilling crisp iron shots all over the range. Turns out that they were the group playing behind ours so the pipes in our mouths made for instant conversation makers. He was really funny, and was smoking Carter Hall what else? He said he liked to smoke a pipe @ Downriver because it brought him luck from the Bing gods (Bing Crosby regularly enjoyed playing this course).
The Bing gods weren't looking so happily down on me. Had a decent front (46) but had the typical Brandon break down on the back and shot a 51! Luckily I pared the wholes the other guys didn't and was able to bogey 3 that the others didn't so at least I contributed to the score card (we were playing a best all round, 4 scores had to be recorded 4 players). We got second with a group score of 75, which means we got all our green fees back plus a few extra bills to spend at the 19th Hole.
Here is a pic of Bing and Bob playing downriver:

Now I am grabbing some more tobacco and heading off for dinner and competing in a trivia night at one of the local bars...I work early tomorrow...here comes a regrettable decision!
