Burning a smal bowl of some unknown G&H flake. I ordered a pound of Rum Twist, among other things from P&C a while back. The package arrived with all the other stuff correct but contained a 5oz bag of some kind of flake labeled 'Rum Twist'. The shipper showing the remainder of the so called Rum Twist on backorder. So obviously I called to straighten all this out and ended up with a bag of (obviously G&H) mystery flake. I'm not sure what this is. It smells somewhat fruity in the jar with a touch of lakeland perfume. Don't taste fruity at all. It tastes more like a G&H blend with vanilla added. I'm thinking this might be G&H Brown Flake Vanilla based in what I'm reading on TR. All in all, not a bad flake at all though it sure as heck ain't Rum Twist. Anyway, it's smoldering away in a Stanwell brushed Rhodesian.

I just tried a blending experiment: F&T Cut Virginia Plug and Solani Aged Burley Flake. 2/3rds CVP, 1/3rd ABF. It’s excellent!

Puffing F&T Cut Virginia Plug in my Tinsky brandy. It’s time to ream it though. Then supper. Mostly out of cans — a 50-50 mixture of collard greens and black eyed peas. Both Glory brand, southern style.

Didn't you just get that pipe? It takes me over a year before I have to ream a pipe.

I'd be lying if I said that sounded good. I think I'd have to drown that mixture in bacon grease before I'd eat it. Of course, you could drown an old shoe in bacon grease and it'd probably taste good. Thinking I'll eat some braunschweiger and vintage white cheddar on rye Triscuits this evening with a glass of Cabernet Sauvignon. I've got some good mustard and a nice, fresh onion on hand too.

I'm eventually headed home to smoke a small bowl of G&H, Bobs Square Cut. I dried the weed out and loaded up the Stanwell Rhodesian yesterday but then didn't feel like smoking so it's still sitting there waiting for me.

Scrap the Triscuits and the Cabernet and I'd agree,Rather have an onion bun and a cold lager.

At least we can agree on the braunschweiger. I generally like Boar's Head meats, but for braunschweiger they only offer a “Lite” version, so I buy Thumann's instead. I’ll be having some for lunch tomorrow on German-baked pumpernickel with mustard, raw sweet onion, and lots of black pepper.

+1 on Boar's Head. Their stuff is usually very good. Didn't even know they made a braunschweiger. I get mine from a meat market where they make their own recipe in house. It's quite good. I usually buy sweet onions too but next time I'm going to get a red onion instead. Sometimes the sweet ones aren't oniony enough.

Going out for a bowl of the G&H Mystery flake. Probably some Cab and braun too...
