This really is a nice Virginia.
Is that MacBitey at all? I've been tempted to pick up a few tins as I've really liked the HH line but I've stayed away from the pure Va. I don't care much for that MacBaren bite... and it does get me with too many of their regular blends. Haven't gotten bit by the HH line although I've only had a few.

I also tend to get that MacBite.
This one has a bit of that straight VA sharpness, but not the same as the usual Mac Baren bite. It does need a little drying out of the tin, but some DGT works pretty well on this one.
It is a quality virginia. It is definitely worth picking up a tin to try. I'm probably going to pick up several to cellar, so I can see how some age treats it.
Not a "blow you away" blend, but a decent straight virginia.

    Thanks!

I actually enjoy that 'sharp' taste if it doesn't come with a dose of bite
I enjoyed the McClelland 'vinegar' taste that people always bitched about too

Puffing Hamborger Veermaster in my Mark Tinsky straight brandy. The Tinsky is proving to be an excellent pipe. The mild, but flavorful, HV is going down very nicely.

And I’m doing some dry fire exercises with my Beretta 87 Target (.22 LR). I plan to shoot it Sunday.

I just opened a 4 yo tin of F&T Special Brown Flake — puffing that now in my Tinsky brandy. This dark Virginia is soft-smoking, and its rum topping is tasty, and not too prominent. Good tobacco, it is.

Puffing Solani 779, English Luxury Mixture, in my Kirsten. Not a big fan of English mixtures — 779 is the only one I stock. It is tasty, and makes for make a nice change-up from time to time.

A little LBF in the freehand pickaxe. Not many more nice days left so enjoying this over the grill. A little windy making it smoke a bit hot but still tasty stuff.

G&H best brown, or brown flake, or is it #4? don't know, don't care, because I've accompanied it with a couple Geaghan's Bangor Browns, and plenty of toque natural toast in the nose. after a nice dinner of liver and onions and garlic, fried potatoes, a few fried eggs, and a pint of PBR. in an especial decent mood.

Smoking a bowl of GH Black Twist in a repaired Dr. Grabow. Sent this in to the Dr. Grabow factory for a new stem and they cracked the shank trying to get the old stem out. They repaired this one and sent me a new pipe too!
