rød hals
Just finish with a bowl of Peterson's Sunset Breeze. Used the Ol-Vic tonight
and I'm thinking it's time for a salt treatment. Got a bad taste of bitters.

Bummin' Around
Smoking some Voodoo Queen I got from Tobias long ago. In a cob with a bent forever stem I got from Haebar in the SPS exchange a few years ago...Been neglecting my pipes for a long time, it's nice to pick it back up.
Have a wonderful day, brothers!

Rainy and 50° or thereabouts. Good evening for some calabashery. Something stout sounds good but the only thing I have on hand is D&R Picayune which I don't care for. Maybe the gourd will work some magic on it...
update:
The gourd seems to tone the pepper down to a tolerable level and bring out some sweetness and a nutty flavor. Still not my favorite blend but much better than the last time I smoked it in a cob. I could probably get used to this. Everybody needs one of these pipes; it's fun to smoke.

Another thing I heard about Picayune is that some age will take the edge of the nearly painful level of spice. I have a pound, so we will see many years down the road if it holds true.

After lunch I was still hungry, so I toasted two slices of good sourdough and spread them with herbed butter. So good. I just don't have a sweet tooth. I like buttered toast, or even buttered bread, better than just about any cake. Now puffing an after-lunch fill of DF. That hits the spot too.
