In the process of inventorying and organizing my tobacco cabinet (see this colorful thread), I discovered that I have several jars containing only about one bowl worth of tobacco. So I plan to knock these off one by one, making room in the cabinet and liberating some jars in the process. Tonight I'm having my last bowl of Newminster Superior Navy Flake, which is indeed superior to some undefined comparator
You oughta know not to stand by the window, somebody see you up there.

Guilty as charged!
1792 gets both love and hate it seems.
I particularly enjoy it folded and stuffed alongside a cup or 3 of hot coffee. It goes so nice with coffee.

Forgot: last night was a bowl of McC, Smyrna #1 in the gourd. This is a fun pipe, it changes the nature of every blend I smoke in it. Not totally but enough to notice. The smyrna was sweeter and less earthy than the last time I smoked it in a briar. Excellent blend tho. I may have to stock up on some of this if it's available... even tho the last thing I need is moar tobakko...

I've had a couple of bowls today.
Had some McClelland No. 24 matured Virginia in an old banded Dr. Grabow.
Also some P&C MATCH Elizabethan in a cheap Yello Bolle I carry in the truck.

I have tried it a couple of times and it really hasn't been my cup of tea.
I have heard that after a few years it mellows out the tonquin flavor quite a bit.
Check out my Youtube channel, Razorback Piper Guy if you like that sort of thing.

Having not paid attention, I almost missed out on Tobias's sale. Managed to get in
on the end of it. Tobias said he had some scraps left that he wasn't sure what was
what since he sent his list off to some one else. Well,,,,, I jumped on it. Some I've
now got about 3-5 lbs of Mystery smokes, !! Loaded a bowl in my Ol-Vic with
"sample" #9. Nice wood smoke aroma but light on flavor. Burned well and still
a pleasant smoke.

Some folks really don't like the stuff. Some can even taste it in the pipe months later and try everything to get rid of the ghost. It does ghost a pipe but seeing as I enjoy the flavor I don't mind and it goes away after a few smokes.
Try it folded and stuffed. Keep the flakes as intact as possible and dry the tobacco out good. I find 1792 a little too harsh for my taste rubbed out, and it doesn't rub out good either - just turns to dust and splinters no matter if it's wet or dry when I try. Folded and stuffed tho, it's far more mellow and creamy. Still doesn't like to burn. Bring lots of matches.
