    Hi Nachman,

Haven't tried the Royal Yacht in it yet, but that would be a later evening smoke to be sure. I wrote earlier that this incarnation of RY is quite good, well done.

2015 Gawith Hoggarth in a 1950s Barling's Make Ye Olde Wood EXEXEL #251, smooth taper billiard with water, no ice.

My favorite shaped pipe of all. I once had 8 of these and they looked very much the same until viewed together where the individual characteristics were apparent. I know the difficulty in replicating shape in handmade pipes, Barling was the master of this to the extent that they numbered them and the look and feel is the same except when seen together. I 'lost' 5 of these and I don't smoke them enough.

    Hi Bill,

I don't like it as well dryer. I can say that about all the flakes that I've smoked, I like them somewhat moist and I don't dry them. It takes a little longer to light but for me it's the way to go.

You are affected by the Lakeland essence. GH Best Brown has too much Lakeland for me, but most of theirs don't, so I assume that it's a threshold of tolerance. Most important, for me, is a loose pack at the bottom, especially with large, coarse flakes like Louisiana.

A couple minutes away from smoking Weybridge in a mid-late 1930s straight black grain relief Dunhill OX Shell bulldog with a silver band repair and a black vulcanite stem. Haven't had this blend in quite a while.

Half way through this bowl of Edgeworth Ready Rubbed in a very much appreciated 1979 brown, slight bend grain etched flat front Stanwell Rego 969-48 (09) with a black vulcanite stem. Have enough for one more bowl.
