    Partly social mores, Touch of Evil was so damned seedy that it was probably repulsive to people in 1958 (and later years) until the idea that a movie should be that way finally hit. Welles lighting made Touch of Evil into a nightmare and that was the intent. David Lynch, Eraserhead, borrowed liberally.

    My reviews? Not worth publishing. The Maltin movie guide had capsule reviews so that's what I wrote but I lost them long ago.
