Cayenne Pepper and Lemon hot tea reduced the flavor of my tobacco

This evening I am having a bowl of H&H Acadian Perique in my extra large freehand Axe. For the last month or so I had noted that my tobacco did not taste well so I cleaned my pipes and still did not like the taste of my tobacco; even Stonehaven, one of my favorites. My wife suggested that the change in taste may be due to the fact that I had begun making an afternoon hot tea of Cayenne pepper and Lemon. I checked this combination on the internet and read that this combination was suggested for people wanting to stop smoking and I said to myself that this will never do. I changed my schedule for this tea to a night tody before going to bed and amazingly I now really enjoy my tobacco as of my old days. I am topping off this smoke with a large mug of ice cold "Guinness Draught" brew and life is again beautiful.

    (Mini review)
This is a nice Virginia. It is a fine ribbon cut of yellow virginias.
I packed a pipe, and headed outside to to prep and paint my brake rotor.
As I worked, I soon discovered this is not a "puff while you work" blend. It started to bite a bit, but it teased me with hints of virginia deliciousness. So, as soon as I got the rotor primed, I set it aside, sat down, and focused on the smoke.
Once I slowed down, this turned into a delicious smoke. It burned quickly, but not too hot. My increased attention was rewarded with a mild, slight-lemony, tangy virginia.
There is not so much a nicotine hit, as it is a gentle wash.
I found this to be a perfect, light Sunday afternoon smoke.
