I'm smoking some Vanilla pipe tobacco from Hyde Park Tobaccos, Cincinnati, OH. About 4 ounces of bulk was in a zip-loc bag inside a humidor that I picked up on Ebay. Judging by the condition of the label on the bag and the brittleness of the bag, I'm guessing that this stuff is decades old. At first, I figured it would be a good candidate for the mulch pile. But when I opened it, it seemed to be at optimum humidity for smoking. So I said what the heck and loaded up a bowl and it is good! The vanilla fragrance is pretty much gone; the bag aroma hints of fresh Play-doh. Smoking it in a Charatan second Dublin sandblast.
