Also, nothing wrong with passing a pipe cleaner halfway through a bowl to swab out the moisture. I don't like any pipe that can't pass a pipe cleaner for this reason.
Smoked some MacBaren Bold Kentucky in a corn cob pipe. Holy Cow, that stuff is strong! Must have taken 30 minutes for my heart to settle back down.

Had a bowl of C&D Haunted Bookshop in an unfinished Savinelli Series III.
First pipe without a filter. Draw is wide open, but I get lots of smoke. Just realized what I've been tasting is corn - it seemed salmon-y, then I remembered reading about breaking in a cob.

Santa @Old Smokey sent me this pipe in our secret santa swap. I packed it for the first time today and was very happy. It smokes very well.
The tobacco was sent by @restomod from our fantasy football league. Was in a Latakia mood this evening so I tried the Sir Gregory from Ye Old Tobacco Shop. The Latakia is mild, with the Orientals coming through more assertively. Very tasty.

Up early this morning at 4:00 am and smoking some Schwab's Paul's Stuff in a very nice estate Bacchus carved meerschaum that I got in the mail from Mars Cigar and Pipes yesterday. The only thing I dislike about this new meerschaum is that the stem is not of high quality and seems to be added only as an afterthought. Does anyone know of a good pipe repair person who works with meerschaum pipes? I have had some bad experiences with having meerschaums worked on with two other repairmen in the past. One of them actually shattered the shank of one of my pipes and glued it together and added a nickel band. At least they didn't charge me for it. It was an old Barling meerschaum billiard.

Contrary to some illusions , I am still around. Mostly round.... Oh well , Time goes on. Currently working on a smooth blend of numerous aromatics , Henceforth referred to as my Bastard Blend . Mostly vanilla and some coco but a few fruits thrown in to give it a twist. For this I have selected a no-name egg-billiard and coffee ( strong enough to make Samson gag ).
