I thought I recognized the name when I was printing the label. Yes, priorities have indeed changed... I finished the first stint in graduate school that I began around the time I dropped out the forums, and I'm finishing the second trip in the spring. I appreciate the kind words, and maybe one of these days I'll pop back in. I have gotten to the point that my smoking isn't nearly as frequent- it's almost been relegated to celebratory cigars as of late. I hope you and yours are doing well, also. Thanks for the purchase- I hope you enjoy the pipe.

Had a bowl of G&H Whiskey Twist last night alongside a rum toddy. Pretty good combo actually although if hit in the wrong order there were notes of laundry soap...

Another, albeit smaller bowl of Whiskey Twist last night. This time with a glass of Spanish red. Meh. The toddy paired much better.

Found a cob that I'd misplaced with a half smoked bowl of some flake, I disremember what, but I smoked that. Was actually pretty good. I think it was a week or two sitting around.

I have been neglecting my pipes lately so the other day I dusted one off and had a bowl of F&T Vintage Flake.
Fantastic straight Virginia. It's up there with Capstan Blue in my opinion.

I had KBV Jupiter slices in the IMP horn. Great Virginia when it is on.

I actually like pipes even more than cigars (don't tell anyone).
Love the ritual aspect of it.
Probably going to make an order soon and try to enjoy more often again.
A few months ago, I was smoking 6-8 bowls a day. Now 6-8 days go by without me picking one up.
Life, and all that.

All right tomorrow I am going to pack one, you guys are enablers.

Smoked a bowl of 2015 Boswells Northwoods this evening. Baccy was from a local friend. Smoked in a small short Made in England pipe.

Had some F&T Vintage in a Savinelli Champagne bulldog.
Great stuff. It's a pure straight Virginia that rivals Capstan Blue IMO.
This is my last tin. My local shop usually has some in stock. I gotta grab some more.

I’ve drug my pipes back out last week. Good for my commutes where a regular cigar is too much.

Been smoking
Erik Stokkebye 4th Generation 1957 and Dunhill Early Morning Pipe.
Both tins are about 7-8 years old that I just opened.

I have been using a variety of (generic) briar or cob pipes.

Had some Dunhill Elizabethan (older tin) in a London made Ben Wade apple shape.
Have been very pleased lately. A year ago, I started getting tongue bite any time I smoked a Virginia based tobacco, so I've been smoking mostly burleys.
I've smoked a few bowls of Virginias over the past few weeks and am very glad to see that I can smoke a bowl without getting lit up. I'm still taking it slow though and not smoking multiple bowls of the Virginias just yet. But am encouraged and enjoying them again.

I had a bowl of Orlik Golden Sliced in an unfinished Savinelli Series III bent billiard while driving around running errands today. Too darn cold to sit outside so I volunteered for the errand running so I could fire up the pipe. lol

I couldn't tell you yet, since this was the second of the sampler I've tried, and the first traditional pipe tobacco (smoked the C&D Chopped Cigar, first).

I did enjoy both, and was surprised by the Nightcap in that it was a mellower than I imagined and had a nice complexity.

As I smoked, I noticed a bit of tar juice in the stem and filter, so I'm not sure if the filter and the tar was affecting the overall experience. Once I removed the stem, there was a nice tar turd hanging from the filter, so I stopped smoking. Got about halfway through the bowl.

Reading another thread, it sounds like most people go without a filter and recommend a Forever Stem. Would you recommend doing this?
