Changed the pace with an 8yo Fonseca 1907 Churchill.
Ran tests and did all I could to clear debris from the ponds. Stream's a mess and needs some repair. I was fishing leaves when one wiggled, it was a 3yo black moor named Ricky who was on his side between the leaves. He made the Winter but that's all. Bye Rick, you made Lucy a widow.
I threw in a few pellets of Spring/Fall feed but there were no takers. The ammonia level was elevated (no filtration over the Winter) so I decided to incrementally add pond AmQuel and test/add more over the coming week as needed.
Took the dog outside and she started barking at the pond and there was one of the Koi. Then another. I counted 6 fish that look good including Lucy (we got her with Ricky). Hopefully there are more to be seen but it made my day.
3 year old Red Rapparee from @mooster in a fe.ro author.
I've never gotten so many different flavors from one tobacco before! Tangy, spicy, sweet, floral, briny, and smokey all dancing about. I was disappointed at first light as I only got tangy va and spicy orientals but after smoking down a quarter/half that's when the fun began. What a smoke!
thanks again, Mark.
Tilbury in a smooth briar calabash shaped Butz-Choquin Maitre Pipier JR Fait Main with a horn ferrule.
Enjoying some CH as my first bowl in the new Brindisi briar
Had to do it. Yet another can of RY! :pipe: A big musketball in the Ser Jacopo, burning beautifully. I think RY is best fresh.
Having a biggish melt today! Temperatures exceeded all expectations, all the way to 62˚F! Still in the high 50s and there's a bit of rain! Supposed to get cold again for the weekend, but we're creeping up on spring!
Time for some latakia with a bowl of The Smoker Legacy in a 2003 medium bent Ural meer with a lined and etched egg shaped bowl.
D&R Picayune in a Grabow
Latakia Flake in a Bjarne Viking Classic with a silver band.
G&H Dark Flake Unscented in a 2013 bent MM Missouri Pride Legend.
Wayne,
Thank you.
No Name was consistent with the bowls I smoked in the Fall and you know that I'm not easily given to such glowing comments. I'd like to write a review of No Name so that it can have the witness that it deserves and you won't have to humiliate me to do it.
2015 Gawith Hoggarth Mixture #12 in a 1985 Ser Jacopo S2 Maxima sandblasted taper apple.
Maybe my last bowl before I write the review of #12 that @Branzig humiliated me into writing.
I hadn't had a pipe in a few days, tonight I'm starting off with McClelland's Frog Morton Across The Pond in a MM Country Gentleman.
First pipe in several weeks I think... A bowl of Peacehaven in my Big Ben.

Now smoking one of my favorite tobaccos of all time: Dunhill Navy Rolls in a much cherished smooth straight grain three quarter bend 1979 Becker M 4 heart brandy. I gave into temptation and opened a two year old tin when I opened the two year old bag of Tilbury.
As always a good time at pipe club. I brought four Malaga brand pipes I restored. I purchased them from a member at last months pipe club. Here are the before and after shots:

I was able to fit three bowls in. The first Gawith, Hoggarth & Co. - Bright CR Flake, second GL Pease Bohemian Scandal (2004), and the third Tom's Private Reserve. I bring stuff too, but it goes unsmoked. I can't compete with what these guys have in their cellars. If you have a pipe club in your area you should join.

@JustTroItIn Nice work!
Currently having my second meerful of Daughters and Ryan Three Sails. It's basically an unadulterated straight VA fine ribbon cut (read cigarette tobacco). I got it for blending but have a bowl of it straight once in a while. It's not too bad, but I have to smoke it really slowly to avoid overheating and moisture buildup, i.e., gurgling.
Now smoking McClelland 3 Oaks Syrian in a rusticated Savinelli 114 ks. If you haven't tried this blend yet, do it. I could easily smoke this all day and be content. Except maybe late night/after dinner when I want something with a bit more strength. Hard to beat .
Needed more perique, so I'm smoking Arcadian Perique in a mid-late 1930s straight black grain relief Dunhill OX Shell bulldog with a silver band repair.
Frog Morton's Cellar in a Grabow
Couple minutes away from smoking Hobbit's Weed in a 2002 IMP smooth full bend egg shaped meer.
Hearth & Home Cerberus
Hey Pete, I was out of town for a cigar herf with some friends that I've know for many years. I brought a couple pipes but our sponsor (General Cigar Co.) sent so many good sticks, I never made time for the pipe! (I know, shameful!) But, I was able to enjoy it today!
Thanks for asking, I missed this place!
Sutliff Bourbon that I received in an awesome bomb from Heabar.
Smoked it in a MM cob.
Breaking in a new MM cob with PS bullseye, and drinking a Wake Up Dead russian imperial stout.
Not a bad pairing.

I was feeling really good by the end of this combo! :pipe:
I don't know the year it was made, but the person who owned it before me bought it around the first year of production. Smokes like a champ!
Now smoking FVF in a 2014 Savinelli Gaius smooth brown slight bend black acrylic stem and ferrule 320KS author. Still working and listening to the audio book of Casino Royale.
Having a short smoke: Vincent Manil La Brumeuse Semois in a straight 2012 MM Pony Express cob.
MacBaren Navy Flake in a light brown 1979 rusticated medium bend Italian Sir Jeffrey Dublin sitter with a flared top and yellow stem.
Dunhill EMP in MM Pride Strait.
Can't sleep, so I'm smoking Jim’s C Blend in a smooth medium bend straight grain 2001 Karl Erik Ekstravagant brandy with a leaf engraved silver band.
Spent the whole day doing the heavy lifting. Now my wife is in the other room putting everything where it "belongs".
I can enjoy a bowl of ODF in a 1988 Peterson 107 along with a Sapporo Mugi to Hoppu :)
It's the little moments.

RY for the first morning in a while! Guess I'm rejoicing in the melting snow. :chicken: (Probably shouldn't do that so early in the morning.)
Grabbed another pipe from the computer room that I haven't smoked in a LONG while, the worth Bari Dana. Combining size, clench comfort, perfect drill, pleasing shape, and excellent smoking qualities, it would be hard to say it's not my best all 'round pipe. I should smoke it more often! :pipe:
Just curious. What's the lower word (character count?) limit for a post to count as a post? I sometimes post multiple line replies that don't seem to have any effect on the statistics. I rarely post anything of the "me too" variety that such a rule would filter out, but perhaps I'm the victim of a well-intentioned rule. I can think of other inequities such a rule imposes, such as the absolutely, irrefutably best short answer to a newbie question not getting into the post-count end zone.
Sounds like a great pipe and it's nice to hit the archives. I get the same feeling, "Why haven't I been smoking this pipe?"
I don' know that there is a rule? It's absolutely possible that such a rule could exist. Maybe the forum is displacing it's ire for me on you? :).
Going to light up some Esoterica Dorchester in a Savinelli 413. Nice stiff cup of tea this morning.
I think I'm in the market for a new pipe! Rotation is getting a little boring.
I'm in the position of some coach or another, many years ago. "The problem with playing Duke (Kentucky?) is that they have a dozen guys on their first string team."
Got the workhorse in, the guy that gets all the rebounds and assists, the sturdy 4Dot, filled with RY. :pipe: I'm blaming a three losses in a row on my slovenly failure to open another can of RY and allowing my brain to seize up. Should have drawn two of them!
