I opened another tin of Escudo earlier this morning. The coins were very neatly formed. Sometimes they are, sometimes they aren’t.
Now puffing mild and tasty Hamborger Veermaster.

You might try Fribourg & Treyer Vintage. A Virginia with lots of flavor and a pleasant room note. I’ve had many compliments from non smokers.
Edit: I used to smoke Vintage in the beer garden of Kaiserhof, my favorite San Diego restaurant. That’s where I got the compliments. Then a customer complained about the smell of somebody’s cigar, so the owner banned cigars AND PIPES! Not fair!
I couldn't get it to work with water. I used a heat gun on low heat and yes, cram a bunch of pipe cleaners down the stem to make sure it doesn't collapse whem you bend it.
I'll have to add a tin on an order sometime.
They probably have to ban pipes along with cigarettes and cigars. Otherwise some jackass would just show up with a bowl of Nightcap or D&R Picayune which smells at least as bad as a cigarette, if not worse.
About to light a bowl of Dunhill Elizabethan Mixture in an old banded Dr. Grabow Berwyck.
I love this tobacco and this pipe.
Pretty sure I’ve met you before...

Got the day off today (one of the perks that come with working for a government agency) and am out on the balcony getting ready to study, smoking Sam Gawith Full Virginia Flake in a Savinelli Champagne bulldog and sipping a cup of coffee.
Life is good.
Got off early this afternoon because of President's Day. Smoking a bowl of G&H Dark Bird's Eye in a Hendon billiard. Drinking diet Pepsi and relaxing.
Puffing Escudo in my venerable Kirsten Mariner. After finishing this fill I’m going to get out my bench “stone” to sharpen the edges of my Kirsten reamer. It’s milled from steel bar stock with six cutting edges, and has a beautifully knurled brass handle.
I put “stone” in quotes because it’s actually a slab of stainless steel, 11-1/2” x 2-1/2” x 3/8”, with 325 diamond grit on one 11-1/2” x 2-1/2” surface.

I love these ropes... especially in this pipe. One day I'm going to spring for a brand new one.

Dunhill Apertif in a Rhodesian. My gosh what an enjoyable smoke
G&H, Sweet Whiskey Twist in the calabash again last night.
This is so enjoyable, I've decided to smoke it exclusively until I tire of it.
...which should be in about 1 or 2 more bowls. :p
Last night:
Velvet in the tomato
New version of 3 nuns in a grabow (not as good as old)
LBF in a bent bulldog
Dunhill Apertif in the Rhodesian
More velvet in a billiard
Lot of piping last night, weather was great.
My upper limit is 1 bowl per day, with the occasional 2 bowls per day on hunting trips etc. or my tongue hates me.
I usually aim for an average of 2 or 3 bowls per week; some weeks I'll have a bowl most evenings and then there are weeks I don't smoke at all. Never could endure more than a couple bowls in a day tho without regretting it, and even then not 1 day after the other... although during hunting trips I do it anyway :p :p

Got a little pile of Warhorse Bar sitting out to dry. I'll probably get to it later tonight or tomorrow sometime. Smells just like baby powder.
Yesterday, I smoked some Frog Morton on the town in the Personal Reserve bent Dublin.
This afternoon I smoked some G&H Dark Bird's Eye in an estate Bari lovat that I got on Ebay a couple of weeks ago.

At my local market today I asked the clerk to cut four slices of braunschweiger for me. “We only have liverwurst,” she said. I had her come to the glass-front display case to see sausage plainly marked “Braunschweiger” on its wrapping. “Well, we call it liverwurst,” she said.
Whatever. I bought four slices. My supper will feature two braunschweiger sandwiches on baked-in-Germany Westphalian pumpernickel, with mustard, raw onion, and black pepper. Can hardly wait!
My girlfriends mother accidentally bought a big roll of braunschweiger a couple of weeks ago thinking it was bologna. She sliced it and tried to fry it before she realized that it wasn't bologna. So, I got the rest of it. Will make some sandwiches with it tomorrow.
About to light up a bowl of G&H Revor plug in a Sunrise Natural lumberman. Drinking Red Rose iced tea and a couple of fingers of Buffalo Trace bourbon.
Fyi, you can fry it just fine but it likes to fall apart if you're not careful. It's quite tasty fried. Browning it up on both sides in a little bacon grease makes it a little more durable. Fry some, then mix it in with some cube cut hash brown potatoes and chop up an over medium egg into the mix and it tastes just like hash and eggs
Not sure what to smoke tonight. Tempted to pop a tin of Dunhill ye olde signe
Smoked some Wild Atlantic in a grabow and getting ready for some ODF in a stanwell freehand

I just did something that I rarely do: opened two 50g tins of tobacco. Both Fribourg & Treyer: Vintage and Blackjack.
Vintage is a mild Virginia flake with a prominent topping — sometimes too prominent.
Blackjack is a finely cut ready rubbed Virginia. No topping at all, and zippy — sometimes too zippy.
I figured that a 50/50 blend of these two would be good. And, by George, I was right! Oddly, the blend doesn’t taste like something halfway between the two components, but like an entirely different (and excellent) tobacco. I put both tobaccos into a jar to retain moistness,, as it’ll take me awhile to go though 100g.
I won an auction on Ebay that included some tobaccos bought in England at a duty-free shop: St. Bruno flake, Revor plug and Condor. After rehydrating the Condor, I have been smoking it almost exclusively for the last few days and have enjoyed every bowl of it.
Just got home from a Dr. appointment and had a quick bite to eat. No time to truly enjoy a cigar today, so I popped open a tin of Viprati and packed my PSF POY bent egg and am enjoying the heck out of it.
Have a great evening folks!
Lol. The seller had the listing titled "Savinelli Napa leather tobacco pouch" and had the pouches in the photo. That's how they sneaked it past Ebay's rules of not selling tobacco. But I see others selling tins regularly on Ebay, despite their latest rule which forbids it.
This morning I am waking up with a bowl of Condor in a Hendon billiard. Just finished some Maxwell House coffee and getting ready for work.
