My penultimate bowl of Escudo Navy De Luxe. I doubt I'll buy it again, as I like Stokkebye's Luxury Bullseye Flake better, and frankly as VaPers go, Hearth & Home Anniversary Kake really knocks my socks off. I still have a large jar of Sutliff's Elizabethan match too, so I see no good reason to throw down so much money for such a measly portion of Escudo.

Snow stopped and is melting off but there's still snow remaining from January. We've taken bets on the date when all of it will be gone. I look like a lock at April 3rd, barring, of course, another helping..
Enjoyed a bowl of Dark Star in a GBD Prehistoric billiard before. Lovely stuff that reminds me of Butera's Dark Stoved, another favorite.

I'm on the beach under a blue sky and bright sunlight while kids frolic in the edge of the surf. A beautiful woman approaches me so I hold up my hand to shield the sun only I can't feel my hand, nor my fingers. They're numb from cold! I'm cold. It's freezing here, where the hell am I?
Oh, it's my porch. I should've kept dreaming. Under the circumstances, this bowl is a reasonable compromise.

Barling 251 is my favorite shape and I call them The Machine. This is the best of the three that I have but I haven't smoked it in over ten years since I noticed a tiny hairline crack on the top of the bowl. The crack hasn't gotten any worse so it's time to use it. Feels wonderful in the mouth. This all started when @Branzig shamed me into a review of GH Mixture #12 (forthcoming) and I wanted to use a wider spectrum of pipes for the task. Thanks Brandon.
Burning up some homemade flake (VA/Burley/Cavendish, peach topping) in an adorable little mini meer I just picked up.

Great! I have always smoked VaPers in it, and I noticed long ago that they seemed a little smoother and sweeter in this pipe. About two years ago, I decided this would be a Louisiana Red or Virginia Spice pipe, depending on which was open at the time. The only regret is that the bowl is wide enough to drop most coin cuts in without bending or folding them, so it's perfect for that. I believe it was made in the 1960s, but I can't prove it. Paid $50 for it in 2001 and sure have gotten my money's worth.
