A review huh? Well after the "charring Light" and a quick tamp it's like sucking air thru a rock.The taste
was very "earthy" with no hint of "Spice".There was a noticable lack of "citrusy" tang,and it reminded
me mostly of burning wood.The smoke was acrid and un-delicious.Definately NOT an all day smoke,the nic hit
was extremely mild though.I believe every Lush should try this at some time in their stupor.I give it a
full Three Head Bangings.(Four if you can get it to stay lit)

My Brigham is supposed to use a balsa filter,dang thing was like 4 inches long.I threw it away and just smoke
it without.Smokes great that way.

Squeezed in some time for a bowl of Margate last nice. It's nice to have that familiar smell back in the mustache; my wife missed it too!

Smoked a small bowl of a not-great combination of Peter Stokkebye #41 cube cut and Cornell & Diehl Bourbon Bleu - which I also cube cut. Loaded it all up in a Savinelli Ginger's Favorite billiard. The best thing I can say about it is that it's gone now.

We had a meeting of the Knoxville Pipe Club last night. Here's what I smoked:

Capstan Blue - Started out great but got flat and boring in the second half.
G&H Sweet Coconut Twist - This was a little too moist and I struggled with enjoying it.
G&H Louisiana Perique Flake - This was superb! So good that I smoked it on the drive home.

Puffing Van Erkoms Jock in my Keyser Hygenic.

Puffing Hamborger Veermaster. I ask myself: Is this the best straight Virginia that I've ever smoked? And I answer: Yes, I think it is. At least for now...

I would completely agree, but I also prefer ABF over even Stoney, so no accounting for taste. Or accounting.

For my part, GH Dark Flake Scented hit the spot.

Puffing Solani 763, White & Black in my newish Luciano squat bulldog. Now that it's somewhat broken in, it's proving to be an excellent little pipe.

I wanted to try some Bob's Chocolate Flake but it is a bit wet. So I'm going with some Prince Albert while it dries a bit.

Now up is that Bob's Chocolate flake I let dry. Well worth the wait as I already like this one 1/4 of a bowl in.

Hearth & Home Classic Burley Kake in a smooth Italian Rhodi

Decided to pick up a pound of PS, LTF for the cellar. I wouldn't have, but LTF is the only Stokkybye flake I've never tried and P&C had a sale on it a couple weeeks back that made it too cheap to resist.

Anyway, I decided to try a bowl of it last night, rubbed out and loaded into a Barling TVF billiard.

Sweet and grassy and a bit chemical tasting is what came to mind - don't really care for whatever they've topped this with. Not a big deal really since I don't intend to smoke much of this for at least a couple years. Hopefully by then the topping will have faded to almost nothing and the virginias will have deepened in flavor. One can hope...

Having some Peterson Irish Oak in a Savinelli Bing's Favorite.
First bowl of the day at 11:00. Way too long.

Threw together a blend a month or two back. 1/2 McClelland 2035, 1/2 McClelland 2010; doused with Kraken rum.
Tried it out last night, after some drying, in a 1930's Kaywoodie.
Pretty nice smoke.

A quick bowl of CH in a cob on my lunch break.

Really just looking for a nicotine hit since my stupid job is stressing me the fuck out lol. Needless to say, this isn't hitting the spot.

Smoking a bowl of Solani ABF in an estate Sunrise Dublin. Haven't smoked in a week and this is very tasty and relaxing.

Yesterday I had a bowl of HH Old Dark Fired which I'd rubbed out into a Savinelli billiard.
I recommend any non-aro lover try this blend. And try it as flake, cube cut and rubbed out. Tastes different each way but good regardless of preparation method (except chewed. Don't try that. It was awful) I'm talking to YOU @Pipe Smoker :p

Now chewing a lump of G&H Sweet Rum Twist along with my morning coffee.

Puffing Fribourg & Treyer Cut Virginia Plug. Of all the straight Virginias in my rotation, this one has the most robust flavor. Now on my second fill. I like it best early in the morning. It gets me going!

I agree completely on the ODF. I went with a bulk sample of the ready rubbed to try it and will be adding a tin or two of the flake on my next order. Just a few bowls leads me to believe it will be a favorite of mine.

Just lit up another bowl of Solani Aged Burley Flake in an old beat-up oval shanked Dunhill billiard.

I'm not sure yet if I want a box strictly based on how often I smoke. I only smoke 3-4 times a week most weeks, so a 1lb box would last the better part of a year if I smoked that and only that.

But yes, smoking pipes has ODF and a few other MacBaren flakes for $58 and some change per box.

In an aromatic mood this morning, so I'm out on the balcony, reading about the intricacies of Tort law, and smoking a bowl of Sail Green, which is a Latakia aromatic.
Not too bad.

Puffing F&T Cut Virginia Plug in my newish Luciano squat bulldog. It's my least expensive conventional briar, but it's rapidly becoming my favorite.

OK, got that aromatic bug out of the way. Should be good for another month or so on that.

Now back to our regularly scheduled programming. McClelland No. 24 Virginia in a Savinelli billiard.

Three hour drive each way over the mountains for a two hour meeting. What to do?

Load the pipes, of course. Westbound I crammed an inordinate amount of brown bogie into my Tsuge pot. Eastbound an even larger bowl of Wessex Burley in a pipe carved for me by a Piper in England.

I was in the mood for a really mellow, yet tasty, tobacco. As always in that situation, I reached for Solani 763, White & Black. I love this stuff!

Next: off to Kaiserhof, my favorite San Diego restaurant, then my pistol range. I always shoot best after a fill of German food and a tall Stiegl Pilsner.

I'm smoking nostalgic; having a bowl of Lane BL/WB in a Dr. Grabow Viscount billiard (minus the condenser gadget). I still enjoy this pleasant tobacco.

Haven't had any Full Virginia Flake in a few weeks, so I cracked open a new tin today. Smoking it in my new (to me) Savinelli Sherwood Rock Briar Canadian.
It was one of my very first favorites, and has lost none of its appeal to me. It always hits the spot.

Last night was our first evening of the season around the fire pit.
Had a nice bowl of my own English plug.
It was a great evening.
