Just finished a bowl of Dunhill Dark Flake in a London made Ben Wade apple.
Think I'll finish the night off with some Nightcap in an old banded Dr. Grabow.

Just finished a Saturday morning smoke of some homemade VaPer cake in a Dr. Grabow Grand Duke.
Drying out some G&H Glengarry Flake for an afternoon bowl... probably in an old Grabow
Been off the forum a few days -- been busy refurbishing some of my old USA-made Chicago Cutlery kitchen knives. The ones sold as Chicago Cutlery nowadays are cheap Chinese knockoffs.
Just finished the last of some Wessex Classic Virginia -- ready to open another tin and put it into a Weck canning jar. I'll also put in a "Hydrostone" humidifier (pink, leaf-shaped). I'll see if I like that better than the little perforated aluminum cans with the humidifying element inside. The aluminum cans tend to corrode.
Now puffing some good old Escudo.
Good to see you back. I use the hydrostones occasionally myself. I'm smoking a bowl of G&H Sweet Coconut twist in an old Dunhill oval-shank billiard that has been buffed so much you can barely read the nomenclature. Drinking a cup of dark roast Dunkin Donuts coffee trying to stay awake for The Thistle and Shamrock radio show.
Pulled out my Swiss BBK and my jar of Captain Black original paired with Folgers
Custom Roast. If it cools down some I'll head out to the porch for a bowl of
Frog Morton Cellar.
Smoking a bowl of MacBaren Navy Flake in a Dunhill Shell billiard before heading out to church. This is really good tobacco!

Puffing a bowl of Escudo before heading off to Kaiserhof, then the pistol range. I usually get my best scores after a trip to Kaiserhof. Don't know if it's the German food or the tall Hacker-Pschorr lager…
Decided to try something new to me and fired a bowl of Stonehaven in my Ol-Vic.
Didn't get kicked to the porch so it's lookin good.:crossbones:
Brown Bogie in a pre-Republic Peterson Shamrock.
I've never tried it before. A friend from my local shop brought me a sample yesterday.
It's pretty good. Pretty good nic hit for sure.
Smoking some G&H Black Cherry Twist in a Dunhill Bruyere.

I didn't really think it was cigar like in flavor, but in mouth feel, yes it is similar. Very robust and bold tasting.
It is a mixture of fire cured burley and Virginias.
It comes in a rope, but it is a rather thin rope, not like the SG Brown No. 4.
It is strong in the nicotine department, but it is manageable. Nothing to be afraid of if you're an experienced smoker.
Wouldn't really recommend it to someone new to smoking.
Finishing up a bowl of GL Pease Embarcadero.
Think I'll go back to a favorite for the next bowl. McClelland Red and Black in a bent Savinelli Series III.
Now puffing Fribourg & Treyer Blackjack that I just received in a SmokingPipes order. I use to smoke this stuff years ago, but it fell off my radar screen. SmokingPipes says that it's a red Virginia, but strawberry blonde is closer to the mark. Its tin note is hay-like. And yes, I know what hay smells like. I spent many hours playing in the haylofts of my dad and uncle when I was a kid. And even doing a little work -- breaking bales, and forking hay down to the stanchion.
This is a very fine tobacco. Mostly rubbed out, no topping, and nothing but sweet Virginia in that tin. And nobody is going to complain that it needs drying time -- it's ready to go right out of the tin.
Having some Firestorm in my Peterson Shamrock.
G&H Rum Flake alongside a few morsels of Bleu d'Auvergne and a splash of E&J brandy.
Most enjoyable smoke in a very long time.
Smoking a bowl of G&H Rum Twist in a MM Country Gentleman with an acrylic stem.

Part way through this bowl of Stonehaven in a straight sandblasted pre-transition Barling Exel 249 Fossil T.V.F. black billiard with a silver band and a black ebonite military bit. Watching the Red Sox-Royals game.
Having some Erinmore Flake in a MM cobbit acorn and watching the storm clouds roll into central Arkansas.
Unloaded and spread 9 tons of crushed concrete, by shovel. I've earned this one!
Pipeworks&Wilke #515 in my 3/4 bent Ol-Vic
Puffing F&T Blackjack in my venerable Kirsten Mariner. I don't know how I let this fine Virginia slip off my radar screen, but that's now corrected -- yesterday evening I ordered 5 more tins. I would've bought more, but that's all SmokingPipes had in stock.
Taking an easy start to a hard day.My Ol=Vic was sitting on my desk and the Captain Black
original jar is in reach. So that's my morning smoke.Late, more gravel to spread, I'm
REALLY looking forward to the weekend !
Friday,,Friday,,FRIDAY !!
Pulled out my Bruce Peterson straight apple pot and loaded some Watch City Deluxe Crumble Cake.
I gave a little sample of black pigtail, which I think is the same thing as brown bogie, to a friend who was new to pipe smoking. He didn't like it, needless to say. Not a beginner's smoke. He said he looked to see if he forgot to peel off the plastic wrapper, LOL.
Just finishing my second bowl of Solani #656. First was in my Casillero straight billard with a saddle bit.
Second was in my DG Savoy, These two are basicly the same pipe ,but the Casillero is a bit bigger although
lighter. Now moving on to a bowl of CB original in my Tally Ho 3/4 bent egg shaped.
Puffing a fill of F&T Cut Virginia Plug from a just-opened tin with 1-1/2 years of age on it. Beautiful day here in San Diego -- Sunny and 72 degrees, light breeze.
So I pulled out my 1950's Monterey and had a bowl of LL Dark Red followed with Pipa's Whiskey
Cavendish.Right now I've a Brigham brandy pot loaded with Penzance and with respect for the wife
, will be heading to the porch with my pipe and coffee. If I'm not back again tonight, don't worry it's because
I'm in NIRVANA.
Ok,SWMBO decreed that sitting on the porch, eye's glazed, and asking Buda to hand me another beer,
was not a constructive means to neighborly relations. So I poutingly have returned. Hence a concilatory
bowl of CB original in my Randy Wiley Rodisian. I am begining to wonder though. I really enjoy aro's,
especially vanilla topped. But I really relax with the orientals. That smokey spice is AWESOME !
And Yes @AlanS ,this ti,e I did have me pants on.:moon2:
Finished my piping day with Sutkiff Day's End in a figural meer.
See y'all in the AM.
Smoked a bowl of G&H Sweet Coconut Twist in a Willard pot this morning.

Starting off today with Dunhill EMP in my Dunhill canted dublin.
Lazy Sunday on the balcony watching YT videos and having a bowl of Dunhill Deluxe Navy Rolls in a Savinelli Champagne bulldog.
2 bowls of Blue Note in my Friar straight billard. Thinking on a few bowls of mystery mixes
to thin out the stash
Reiner Long Golden Flake In a Brigham Brandy Pot.
A concilatory smoke , the boss was awol so I got an un-wanted day off.
Gonna drown my probs in nicotine...............
Puffing F&T Blackjack. No topping, no blending -- just bright Virginia of the best quality. So simple, so good!
Morning everyone ! Starting with Pipeworks&Wilke Rumcake in my 1950's Monterrey
Puffing F&T Blackjack. About a week ago I purchased 5 tins from SmokingPipes -- all they had in stock. Yesterday I received an in-stock notification -- they had 14 more tins. I bought 10 of them. This stuff is good.
