Now *that's* a rotation! good variety.

I added a pinch of McClelland 5105 & 2035 to some 1.5 year aged AJ's Vaper, and am smoking in a Transition Battling 5574.
Pretty nice!
Just got back from the Knoxville Pipe Club meeting. Seven of us showed up. We're fortunat to have two members who are pipe makers and one which is a very good pipe repairman. I bought a pipe from one of them tonight and the other one showed me the Canadian that he is making for me. I don't need any more pipes but these have a personal touch and will mean a lot to me. So I am thinning the herd a bit and am offering some of my other pipes on ebay.
Tonight I had a bowl of DPE (David P. Ehrlich) in a Group 5 Dunhill Bent Brandy Bruyere. This is a very tasty mild English; several of us smoked it and liked it.
Followed by a bowl of McClelland Yenice Agonya in a group 4 bent billiard Dunhill Shell. This is one of their Grand Orientals series. This was a very interesting and enjoyable smoke - very different and exotic.
And finally a bowl of Solani White & Black 763 in a straight billiard Dunhill Shell. I liked this after I let it dry a little bit - right out of the tin it was nippy and hard to keep lit.
McClelland Red and Black in my unfinished Savinelli Series III.
I ought to try the Solani White & Black. Every Solani tobacco that I've tried has been excellent, except for the Tropical Mango Flake, which was horrible. But then I'm not an aromatic fan.
Edit: I now regret tossing the Tropical Mango Flake after one fill. A mixture of 80% DF and 20% TMF might've been interesting.
Having an early morning smoke of 2016 Christmas Cheer! A pipe club member gave me a whole tin of it Wednesday night for no good reason!
Happily puffing Wessex Classic Virginia. This is very fine tobacco. Unflavored, except for a touch of Perique.
Peterson University Flake in a Shannon
Was in a Latakia mood tonight so I cracked open a tin of GL Pease Quite Nights and tried it for the first time.
I only have the one bowl to go on, but it was really good.
If you like Penzance but can't find it, try Quite Nights. Very similar and readily available.
Sorry about my absence lately. I've been working on a pouch of Mystery Mix #3, and now that it's gone
I'm enjoying a bowl of Peterson's Sunset Breeze. A fitting smoke for the two days of rain.
Puffing Solani 633, Virginia with Perique. Somewhat like OGS, but the Virginia component is better, and it has a bit more Perique.
Today I'm returning to a practise I had last spring, I've loaded 4 pipes to smoke. Now, this will probably
not be all I smoke today. But will give me a good starting lineup. So in order of their demise will be.
Captain Black Original in my DG Savoy
Peterson's Sunset Breeze in my 1950's Monterey
Lane Dark Red in my Casillero
and Lane's 125th Anniversary in a figural meer.
I am smoking a bowl of C&D White Burley. It arrived with a 3/4" cut in the bag and the tobacco was dry. After rehydrating it a little, I wanted to see if it still had flavor after being dried out and it does. Smoking it in a straight Sunrise Featherweight Apple.
G&H Rum Flake in a MM General with an acrylic stem whilst doing a bit of turkey hunting.
One full bowl smokes off and on all day.
SG chocolate flake in my MM "Diplovat" mod. This is really good stuff, I'm a bit surprised. Not "aromaticky" at all.
Just now getting around this bowl of LL 125th Anniversary, and I've 3 bowls of Mystery Mix #9 in waiting.
I did cheat and snuck in a Cult BRM cigar.
Puffing my weekly fill of ten yo FVF. It's remarkably good. Next up: Solani 779, English Luxury Mixture. No age on that one though.
The chocolate poked in here and there, but if it weren't called chocolate flake it might be a bit hard to tell. I got that good SG baccy flavor in droves though. I did dry mine for several hours though, so I think that's partly why the chocolate wasn't as prominent. what do you think?
Solani 656, ABF, is unflavored, but I taste chocolate notes in it none the less.
I dry it too. In fact, I dry everything. If I don't dry tobacco the flavor comes across as steamy and muted IMO. I also prefer this blend roughly rubbed out or cube cut. Seems it doesn't have enough surface area to really shine if I smoke it fold n stuffed. And no, if it wasn't called 'chocolate flake' I'd never peg the topping as chocolate. It's just a very nice tobacco with a mysterious, "deeper" flavor to me. I also love the sour notes in the first part of the bowl... which you don't get as much of if you don't break it up a little.
While working on the roof, I indulged in C'est Le Vie in a Rolo pocket pipe.Had anther on the porch.
Followed with Oriental Blend in my Swiss BBK while reading.
re-visited the FMC, this time in my Friar straight billard. I'm thinking I could smoke alot of this !
No, I think they should be about the same. I had just forgotten I had a jar of Rum Flake in the cellar! I've come to terms with Louisiana Flake and Bob's Chocolate, so I may have to dig around and find that jar of Rum Flake. It should have a year or two on it now.
Had some GL Pease Quiet Nights in a Savinelli Punto Oro.
Had a small bowl of Samuel Gawith, Navy Flake in my glassbottom, Gountry Gent last night. It's been a while since I smoked this blend but it's very nice... Navy indeed; I can't see a wet, filthy sailor smoking this. I figure they probably smoked something like Rum Twist but far more crude, harsh and bitter... but I digress...
Puffing Solani ABF. Such a nice, relaxing tobacco. Never any of the tartness that I sometimes get from Virginias.
Accordion to Herman Melville they smoked pipes. Next you'll tell me Moby Dick isn't historical fact!

Had some GL Pease Quiet Nights and some Russ Ouellett Firestorm earlier today.
Now I'm enjoying some PS Proper English in a Dr. Grabow Berwyck.
#1 - Solani ABF
#2 - Solani English Luxury Mixture
#3 - Wessex Classic Virginia
All were good, but the Wessex was the winner. This mild, under-the-radar red Virginia vaper is just good. And less expensive than the Solani tobaccos.
Had some Fire Storm in a Savinelli Bing's Favorite.
Now I'm about to light up some Peterson Irish Flake in an old banded Dr. Grabow.
Smoked some McClelland 40th Anniversary Flake.
It is pretty good now; should be great with some age.
Hopefully, I can pick up a few more tins to cellar.

C&D Temple Bar in a Dr. Grabow Starfire billiard.
Still trying to figure out how to make C&D Virginias work for me.
