Had some Prince Albert in a cob on my lunchbreak.
Got a box in today and tried a couple I haven't tried before, with mixed results.
Had a half a bowl of C&D Old Joe Krantz. I'm really glad I only got a 1 oz sample because I couldn't finish the bowl. Just plain burley taste with a tremendous spice kick.
Not for me.
Opened a tin of GL Pease Embarcadero and it is wonderful. Smoking a bowl of it in my unfinished Savinelli Series III.
A cob full of orlik golden slice out enjoying a rather mild opportunity to run the BBQ
Hi folks! I've been off line for awhile – I suffered nearly simultaneous problems with my iPhone and my laptop Internet connection. Apple has now replaced my four year old iPhone 5 with a brand new iPhone 5. Cost me $80, which seems like a fair deal.
My failed Internet connection was a dongle that plugged into a USB port of my laptop, and connected to Sprint's LTE network. My new Internet connection is a Netgear "Hotspot" which also uses Sprint's LTE network, but connects to my laptop via its built-in router. A better solution, but I spent a lot of time researching it, purchasing, and getting it activated and configured.
I'm very happy that that hassle is now behind me, and I can just sit here enjoying a pipeful of Solani 656, Aged Burley Flake!
That's kind of what I thought of D&R Picayune, only it was cigarettes minus the paper and a tremendous spice kick.
May not get the time tonight but if I do it'll be a bowl of Classic Samsun by McClelland (autocorrect is just SURE I meant to type 'Samsung'). If not the samsun, then another of the Grand Orientals line. I've been gravitating toward the orientals lately for some reason. Maybe because Saturday was Chinese new year... that oriental enough for ya?

Not going to have time for any Grand Orientals tonight after all. I had to make due with a couple handfuls of smoked almonds.
Changed the water pump on our Jeep this weekend.
Over the course of staring, thinking, mulling, pondering, wrenching, draining, waiting, cursing, and celebrating; I enjoyed the following (all in cobs):
McClelland Blackwoods Flake
My shelf vaper blend
McClelland 5100 with some perique and a pinch of latakia
H&H Larry's Blend
I keep a fairly strict tobacco rotation, and yesterday DF was up. But I had a hankering for Perique, so I opened a tin of Solani 633 instead. Puffing a fill of that now. It is a very fine tobacco.
A bowl of DE Central Park Stroll in my one and only briar this morning.
McClelland 24 Virginia in a Savinelli Bing's Favorite.
Only my 2nd bowl of this. So far I like it. A lot.
Gawith Hoggarth Dark Flake in a straight, smooth Brewster billiard
Hearth & Home Porch Swing in a MM cob
Finishing up a bowl of GL Pease Embarcadero in an older banded Dr. Grabow Berwyck.
I think next up will be Rattray's Marlin Flake in a Savinelli Roma 114KS.
Had some C&D Bayou Morning on my lunch break.
It's one I'd tried about a year ago and didn't care for. I thought I'd give it another go.
Meh.
A Solani kind of day for me. Alternating fills of 633 and 656. Both are excellent.
A bowl of McClelland Blackwoods Flake in a Dr. Grabow Starfire billiard.
SPS Maple Street in a straight rusticated Friar with a nickel band.
My first smoke in a Dr. Grabow Golden Duke I restored. No varnish. Just oiled.
Tobacco is SG Best Brown Flake. It really is. I just rubbed it out and stuck it in an empty Blackwoods Flake tin because it was a hair moist.

Enjoying a bowl of SPC MS River in a Howal. Great pipe and wonderful tobacco along with the SPC Plum Pudding from SPC. I need to try some more of the SPC offerings someday......
I think I found something great.
3/4 McClelland 5110 and 1/4 PS blending latakia. Sweet, smokey, delicious.
You should try it.
