My tin of Solani 656 ABF was about empty, so I'm puffing a 50-50 blend of the ABF and DF. I chopped both up and mixed well, rather then layering. Very tasty, it is.

Puffing Fribourg & Treyer Vintage – a soft-smoking Virginia flake with a tasty topping. It has 26 months of age on it, and is going down especially well today. A nice room note too – a good choice for social occasions.

When I bought this it was so sharp and bitey I didn't want to smoke it. Now it's got about a year on it and it's coming along nicely. This bowl has a sort of creamy, citrusy thing going on; like smoking an orange creamsicle or something... Although I imagine a creamsicle would gurgle a bit if you actually tried to smoke one. Reviews say this is unflavored, but I'm thinking there's some vanilla in the woodpile with this one. Might have to pick up more of this to sit on for a decade or so.

@GWBowman sent me a couple oz of a bulk Oriental Blend, So today I've loaded a bowl in my
Casillero and I have to say WOW! This is what I remember being enthralled by as a kid. I would
walk the block and there was this one "old" man who would smoke his pipe on the porch while
reading the paper.Never yelled me for crossing the lawn to say Hi.It was funny the day he
caught another neighbor kid picking on me, he walked up and rather than yelling or grabbing the
guy, he sticks his pipe in the kids face and tells him "that boy is gonna remember this, and WILL
get even".That kid never picked on me or anyoneelse (as far as I know ) again. So,George
Thanks for brining it home !

I wonder how this will pan out.
I have a 36 pipe rack, full. Pipes all over my desk. Pipes in boxes. Pipes in drawers, pipes in my tobacco cabinet, pipes in my 7 pipe carrying case, pipes everywhere. From this day forward I pledge never to buy another pipe. And this time I mean it. Except maybe for that one I have my eye on on Ebay. But that's it. Forever.

Trying to burn off the rest of the dye in this MM Dagner Poker with a bowl of Royal Yacht. The initial bowl was kind of nasty with a mixture of dye and varnish in it from a sloppy finishing job.
I hear it's best to hire a cheap man--a man who doesn't amount to much, anyhow--who would be as well--or better--dead, and let him break in the pipe for you.
The leavings mixture is good. Starting from the bottom, I layered; LNF, SRT, Gaslight, then topped off with more LNF. The tobaccos are different enough that I could easily pick up the transitions. I'm burning thru the SRT layer now, wondering if I'll get to the bottom layer of LNF or if it will be too wet toward the bottom to burn.
-edit-
It got too wet. Just started picking up hints of the soft Va flavor of LNF and it got too wet and refused to burn.

ARRRRRRGGGGGGGHHHHH ! I finally sit down and load a bowl for the night, Thought Nightcap in a Meerchaum would nit
