Ok it's time to give the pipe another try. I picked up a non-aro english type house blend from a local B&M. Getting better. Bowl stayed lit (most of the time). And had only minor tongue bite.

Most folks know that San Diego has a mild climate. But in addition to that, there are few flies or mosquitos. Not much SMOG either – at least where my home is. Also, no tornadoes or hurricanes, and seldom even strong winds.

The last of my open stash of 1960 Balkan Sobranie in a full bend black pebble finish 2001 Rinaldo Lithos YY8 Titania Silver Line egg with a black acrylic stem. Age did not diminish this English blend, which greatly surprises me. Ice water and bergs is my evening drink.

Starts out blah, but ends up pretty nice. Has a good nic kick. Going to jar a couple ounces to see if the Virginias will come out more.
Just polished off a bowl of Cornell & Diehl VA Flake. Nice and mellow, sweet, grassy, citrusy. Not a lot of vitamin N though.
