Trying a bowl of G&H Bright CR Flake today - cubed up to fit in the little Savinelli
This is a different sort of Va than I'm used to and so far I'm not too impressed - but then again I never like the first bowl of anything so I didn't really expect to like it right off.
First impressions:
Initial light: Sweet and fruity - thought I'd gotten Glengarry Flake by mistake
Once it got underway the sweetness faded and at different times I thought of...
Wood, Dry Grass, Slightly Bitter (like an orange rind is bitter but without the citrus hit), Floral, Slightly Fruity, Salt, BandAids, Slightly Sweet
With the bitter and floral, I'd imagine this would go good alongside an IPA if I could find one that's not too bitter, but I generally don't like IPAs. Then again, it might go good alongside a box of BandAids if you're into eating them...
