Bryan's shelf blend in a Savinelli Roma 626.
My shelf blend is a pint jar I use to collect the bits that don't fit into a bowl or that are the end of a tin/sample that don't make up a full bowl. Mostly virginias and vapers, with a condimental amount of blends such as Holiday Spirit, Voodoo Queen, SPC Mississippi River-no full English blends. It was a great smoke with subtlety and variety. It was my first smoke from the jar, and i really enjoyed it. I jarred up half; labeled and dated it for cellaring.

I was rummaging through my cellar and found a jar of C&D long ribbon blending perique i stashed away over a year ago. Feeling squirrelly, I pulled out my mini MM cob, stuffed it full of perique and lit it up.
This stuff is delicious. Musty, mushroomy, and spicy; like mushrooms sauteed in tobasco.
This little bowl hit like a full-sized bowl. I can feel it for sure, but not overwhelmed.
I'll probably be revisiting this for a good nic hit on a short timeframe.

Maybe it's a Savinelli thing. :p I tried a bowl of Louisana Flake in my little Sav 313 a while back... just awful. Pepper and perfume was all I got. I struggled with it for a while and finally gave up and dumped it out. In the little pipe's defense, the LF was more wet than I usually smoke it and somewhat rubbed out whereas I prefer this one as stuffed flake.
Had a bowl of Nightcap in a small Peterson yesterday. It's been a while since I smoked this baccy which made it taste all the better.
Just finished smoking MacBaren Burley London Blend in a 2001 black sandblasted three quarter bend Rinaldo Lithos YY bulldog with an amber colored stem. A bottle of Mist Twst is my drink.
The main issue with mine I think is the chamber diameter...something about this pipe just hates flakes. Rubbed out they fare better, but I'm a flake stuffer ususlly.
Also I've been smoking a lot of VA and burley blends lately....I think my taste buds are tired of them. I just lit up a small bowl of Grasmere flake on lunch, and it even tasted a bit bland....when Lakeland snot starts tasting meh, you know you're in trouble.
Time to up the latakia I'm rekkon

That's true. Lakeland ought to taste revolting like it normally does. :D :D

Either that or time to take a break. I find when it all starts tasting the same I've overdone it and need to take a week off. That first bowl afterwards just tastes so good :pipe:

I've been smoking all day, but every time I post, I get an error message. Gonna take a couple days off here and see if the problem straightens out. This happens on a semi-regular basis and I hope somebody will look into it.
