Solani Silver Flake in a Grayson's squat bulldog
I'm smoking my first ever bowl of Royal Yacht. This is from a half ounce sample I got four years ago from either Jeff (commonsenseman) or John (indigosmoke-has he found us yet???) that's been sitting in the baggie inside a sealed mason jar for that length of time. Maybe it was the small amount of baccy in the container, but whatever topping this once had is long gone, so I have no idea what it actually tastes like. But the topping would have to be pretty damned hideous to override the flavor of this tobacco, right? This is good stuff. Guess I'll have to try a tin.
Sugar Barrel in a MM Cob. Mmmmmm good.

Just finished smoking MacBaren Navy Flake in a light brown 1979 rusticated medium bend Italian Sir Jeffrey Dublin sitter with a flared top and yellow stem.
On the balcony this evening with some H&H Classic Burley Kake in a MM Huck Finn.
Never had this one before. I got it from @Tobias Lutz via the review contest.
Though it is not exactly what I was expecting I like the tobacco a lot.
The flavoring is subtle and not at all overpowering. The predominant flavor is still the burley.
Great smoke.

About half way through this bowl of Royal Yacht in a 1970s smooth GBD 9665 slight bend with a rough top flat bottom sitter.
It's pretty good! This is from a tin from 6/9/11. It's something I'm periodically in the mood for.
It has a great deal of Cyprus Latakia yet it's somewhat subtle in flavor, for me. It may be the age on this baccy. It's pretty void of any sweetness (while smoking, though it does have a tiny pinch of sweetness when smelling it prior to smoking) and filled with ample smokiness, a bit woodsy, a little peppery and a hint of licorice. It has very little bit, if smoked slowly.
Overall, if you like Latakia, it's a must try.
Just finished smoking Edward G. Robinson's Pipe Blend in a 2014 Basil Meadows smooth slight bend squashed tomato with an aluminum band and a black pearl acrylic stem. Next is Watch City Deluxe Crumb Cut in a 1970s black sandblasted Savinelli Autograph 05 Horn.
1970s Union Leader in a smooth 2002 Peterson Sherlock Holmes Series Milverton.
Yesterday, I smoked Royal Yacht all day, except for a bowl of Edgeworth Ready Rubbed match after dinner in a Roma Lovat which my grandson gave me in October. The Roma is finally broken in well, and the nasty taste from the stain that was in the bowl is gone. Now it smokes well. A good cake coves a multitude of sins.
Last night smoked a Nubs maduro ....nice

2014 Gawith Hoggarth Dark Sliced in a 1983 Ser Jacopo Granato stout billiard with a gold/silver band.
On the porch, it's in the 40s with a brisk breeze but the sun is beautiful and life remains good.
I've found that G&H remains the closest in flavor and smoking profile to what I remember from the 1980s of the current brands that I've tried. I can compare my 2014 G&H with a few inches of a 30yo+ G&H Happy Brown Boogie pigtail that I still have. You smoked G&H for flavor and impact and not subtlety and that remains the case. Perhaps it's the age but the old pigtail seems to be lower in vitamin K than the Dark Sliced (smoking now) or the Dark Flake unscented.
About to burn some CAO Bella Vanilla in a Stanwell Brushed Black. This morning I smoked some Cherry Bomb in a 1983 BC Millesime 368 :pipe:

2 Daughters VIP in a late '70s full bend straight grain rough top Savinelli Autograph 6 sitter with a cumberland stem. This finishes the tin. I sure enjoyed it.

Hopefully, when he melts out in spring, they will have discovered a way to revive him. At least he'll still be fresh.
We're getting some real good melting! Lots of sun really does the trick. Smoking Erinmore Flake today, one cob after another. Heading for the afternoon Vitamin B supplement, Genesse beer. Attachment 1052
Troost Aromatic Match in a slight bend black sandblasted Lorenzo Elba Imperia 8636 with an amber colored acrylic stem. Have enough for one more bowl. Then I'll work on finishing up what I have of the original.
Last of Mixture #1001B (8-19-14) in a 1972 Caminetto Business #104 saddle billiard.
A couple minutes or so away from smoking HU Nashville County in a smooth 1979 Chippendale (Charatan second) Rhodesian 49.
It's 67 degrees and sunny so I'm going on the back porch to have some 2009 Sir Walter Raleigh Aromatic in my Lepeltier clay that @LandonColby gave me for the Secret Santa exchange.
